After 40 years working in fashion, I’ve learnt not to judge anything straight off the hanger. Sometimes it’s all about finding the right styling.

I thought I’d jump on the chatty reel trend because I treated myself to something fabulous in the sale… and I have absolutely no intention of taking it off until September. Assuming, of course, we stay at these normal English summer temperatures and the crazy heat doesn’t return .

If you’ve just found me through my @rose_and_rose giveaway, welcome! I thought I’d properly introduce myself. I’m Marie-Louise, I’m 61, and I work in fashion PR. I mostly work from home, but I’m always dashing around London to press days, launches, showroom appointments and events. I’ve been doing this for over 40 years and still love it.

I’m married to my husband Matthew, who occasionally appears on here when I can persuade him. He’s now working in AI and the creative industries, which sounds impressive and is! At 63 he just completed a PHD in it and now we have to refer to him as Dr Matthew Maxwell! 👊

Our daughter has flown the nest, is engaged, and next year I’ll officially be entering my #MotherOfTheBrideEra, which I’m so excited about. Our son is still living at home and am thrilled about it. The children are finally off the payroll too ! (Well currently!!!

On here you’ll find style, beauty, travel, little snippets of London life & the odd bit of wellness! I’m long past menopause and think your 60s are hugely underrated. I feel more confident now than I did in my 30s, wear whatever I like, care a lot less about what people think, and am trying to do the dreams and grab the opportunities!

I’ve always been a grafter and have absolutely no plans to retire just yet. Mainly because I still love my job… but also because my pension has a way to go! 😳
