Final step in our patio project…rock glue! (It also works for mulch). It hasn’t even cured fully and seems to be working! Given the imperfect nature of the bluestone pavers (different thicknesses, sizes & shapes), some of the gaps are bigger than others and the pea gravel needs an anchor (the base is sand). Simply mix with water & spray the mixture where you want (it’s ok if it goes onto other areas a bit). Thin coats are best (2-3 are recommended) but I was a little heavy handed in some areas & other than looking a little darker than other spots, it looks fine! It goes on a surprisingly pretty cornflower color but dries clear. Supposedly will last a year or two but nothing is a given weather wise anymore so we’ll see!

Lived-in design isn’t exclusive to interiors…

I’d been searching for the perfect patio seating pretty much since we moved in 4 years ago. Nothing ever felt quite right for its location—either too bulky, too low, or just not the vibe.

But I finally found it! This set brings a warm, rustic elegance to the patio—think English garden meets relaxed European charm. The sectional offers plenty of seating and the ottomans pull triple duty as freestanding seating, a place to stretch out, or as side tables.

I love the contrast of the dark wicker against the softness of the garden, and the open weave keeps it feeling delicate and breezy. I did swap the cushions for a lighter tone that better suits my cottage garden vision (though I kept the originals on the ottomans) and used all throw pillows instead of the back cushions for a more layered, bespoke feel.

It’s everything I’ve wanted & looks right at home in the backyard, don’t you think??
