I’ve been on the hunt for a rug for our living room. I bought three that all went back. The colors were never right but finally! This one arrived and it’s exactly what I wanted. It’s warm with shades of black, gray, tan and rust. I absolutely love it. Oh, did I mention it’s washable! I mean literally, take it off of the rug pad and put it in the washing machine! And all the mamas of littles and pets rejoiced!🙌🏼. I’ll just tell you, I don’t have either of those things but I have people and people are messy! Let the living commence, there’s no worry about messes anymore!

The closer it gets to Christmas, the less prepared I realize I am. I still haven’t finished putting out my decorations. My porch has dead mums and some faux pumpkins that haven’t made their way to the attic yet. The wreathes are still out in the barn.

I started out really good until I fizzled.

On a happy note, our new couch came in! 🙌🏼 Once we saw it in our space I realized we needed just one more piece. It’s ordered and isn’t expected in until just after the first of the year but I’m totally ok with that!

It’s a rainy day in North Georgia and I’m finally getting out some fall decor. This is my second fall arrangement and the porch is next on my list.

I’m super grateful to be home today. No makeup and in my coziest clothes. I’m loving this new sweatshirt. It comes in lots of colors and prints and it’s less than $12! Side note, I love that it covers my bottom. I normally wear a Small/Medium but I sized up to the large for some extra length.

I’m thinking I’ll be moving the new pillows from my bedroom to the new couch. Honestly, I’m just not loving them in the bedroom.

Unstaged- real life - shoes at the door and bottom of the stairs with the carpet that I can’t wait to replace.

I have my coffee and do my Bible study on this couch each morning, in the quiet and stillness as the sun comes pouring through those front windows. My heart is happy here. This space is lived in. It’s home.

I chose an indoor/outdoor rug because, life. We can take it outside and pressure wash it. So easy! My coffee table has been changed, repainted, sanded and stained numerous times. This is home.❤️

I sit on this couch every single morning and spend time with The Lord when my house is still quiet and I’m waiting on the sun to come up. Just coffee and Jesus. Y’all, sometimes Mommin is hard! When your kids are young, the job is mostly physically exhausting. The older your children get it becomes more emotionally exhausting. We can’t fix their problems and broken hearts like we could make a booboo feel better. It can be a feeling of helplessness if we’re not resting in Christ. To be out of sorts and overwhelmed means I don’t trust Him. His plan. His timing. That’s hard! I don’t know about you but I want to fix things. I want to make them better but I’m doing that, I’m trying to interfere in The Lord’s plans.

Ladies, if you don’t know Jesus, life gets so much harder. I don’t know how anyone makes it through a day without Him.

For now, I’ll admire my new light fixture.‘I’ll drink my coffee and just pray!

You know when you’re trying to have your quiet time or Bible study and it just doesn’t go the way you want? Yea, me too! I wanted to share a few tips that help me stay on task and help me walk away feeling refreshed and ready to approach the day.

Find a quiet place. For me, I need to be alone to minimize distractions. Even Jesus went off to be alone with The Father, Matthew 14:23.

If you’re like me, when you sit down, a million thoughts come to mind; what you need to grab from the grocery store or do later in the day. Have a piece of paper handy. When those thoughts come, write them down and quickly move on. Don’t focus on the list and other things you might need to add. Just slide it away and pick that Bible back up.

For me, I have my qt early in the morning; before the sun is up, before my family, before I start the laundry or do anything else. Once the world is awake and things are busy I know my time is filled with a lot more distractions.

Be consistent. I sit in the same spot every single morning. My Bible, pen, paper and everything I need is always there so there’s no fumbling around trying to get my things together.

This is a big one; if you’re starting early, leave your phone off! Once those notifications start rolling in or you pick up your phone to just look something up quick, the enemy is working to captivate you and keep you distracted.

I have the hardest time focusing. I’m extremely distracted by any small noise or movement. There’s a word for this, it’s just 3 little letters...A*D. The struggle is real. This can be absolutely exhausting and make me feel so unproductive. I have a roller bottle with Lavender, Cedarwood, Vetiver, Frankincense + Brain Power. They truly calm my Brian and help me to stay on task. 🙌🏼

Taking these steps truly helps me get the best start to my day. It helps me to walk through my day calmer and more intentional knowing that I’ve spent sweet time with My Father that morning.

Well hey Monday! It’s pretty dreary and rainy in North Georgia. Snagged the cutest little lamp this weekend. It’s a perfect fit on my built ins for a little extra light in a dark corner.

I guess it’s time but for some reason all of the Easter things just threw me off this past week while I was out shopping! I don’t know about you but 2021 is kind of crazy and we’ve barely begun. In spite of the crazy, we’re seeing The Lord do some amazing things and for that I’m just so grateful! I’m so glad I can look to Him for my hope and not a political leader. 😬

Just a year ago when we started talking about making this property ours, the dream was that, just the property. Not this house. Our plan was to build our dream house on this land. The place we’d call our forever home. As time went on and The Lord opened doors, more property became an option along with the original home place. Not my dream house. Don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing wrong with this house but I wanted something completely different. ⁣

I knew that in order to make this work for me, there needed to be changes, lots of them. But, change takes money and this girl was on a strict budget. We were able to pull it together. ➡️(𝘚𝘸𝘪𝘱𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝐛 𝐞 𝐟 𝐨 𝐫 𝐞) I knew this house had the potential to be our home. I could see the changes we could make that would make an impact. Everything isn’t the way I want it yet but vision is a beautiful thing. ⁣
