*these are my initial thoughts but given the format of this book, and its unsettling intent l'm sure my feelings will continue to evolve on this as I sit with it longer*
If you love A24 movies, this is worth a read. Definitely not for everyone. It's pretty slow and confusing at the start, mainly due to the time jumps, lack of identification of the narrator (this is intentional, and I think actually draws you further in as you read) but wow. I really enjoyed this overall, the characters are not likable in their own right, each is pretty seemingly flat and has their own fatal flaws, but that's what actually makes this read interesting. It's like reverse psychology, because you feel distant enough from everyone that you don't know what's going to happen even though it's right in front of your face the whole time.
I love the unique writing style, the authors intentionality and nods to his own personal experiences (this is the author of the book Knock at the Cabin is based on) and tension this book brought, I didn't feel scared per say, but the unsettling ness of the story is enough to keep you turning pages, begging for relief almost.
As a horror fan, you will completely understand the fandom commentary and inspiration of this story; but if you're looking for a simple slasher-style haunted movie set tale, this isn't it hahhaha

This is what I want in a dark romance!! Edgy, spicy, and spooky but not traumatizing or so graphic that I feel like I'm going to vomit from the gore πŸ₯°
General premise: a girl falls in love with a demon who's hot and aggressive but has babygirl energy for just her (we love a he-hates-everyone-but-you trope Imao) lots of cozy, creepy vibes in this one and LOTS of spice!
I was really iffy about this one at first (mainly because our male MC has blonde-ish hair ICK) but I really really enjoyed this!

Once again. These books are just fun! The plot is okay but just a fun silly read overall! Super fast paced, spicy, and easy to read with the chapter length.

imagine the Disney College Program does a crossover with Lord of the Flies or Yellowjackets. This post-hurricane horror is written as a series of interviews, almost like you're reading true crime but without the very real anxiety and woes that come with true crime. I would have liked a bit more narrative elements to this story rather than first person recounts but regardless I flew through this book. The setting is so eerie and familiar you have no problem getting sucked into the story and the scary bits aren't so much scary as much as just disturbing thriller-like elements.
(Not to downplay some of the stuff that happens in this book, if you don't like reading any gore whatsoever this one will still be too much for you)
One of my favorite horrors I've read for the pure uniqueness of this book!

These books are so bad... but SO GOOD.
A true guilty pleasure read, this is book two in this mafia, rh romance and honestly I don't know what I was expecting but I had a fun ride along the way. The writing... doesn't super make sense but then there's random moments where it's really captivating (the ending?? HELLO) I think this series is a great read if you're looking for something quick, easy, corny, and spicy to read.
