4.5 โญ๏ธ imagine the Disney College Program does a crossover with Lord of the Flies or Yellowjackets. This post-hurricane horror is written as a series of interviews, almost like you're reading true crime but without the very real anxiety and woes that come with true crime. I would have liked a bit more narrative elements to this story rather than first person recounts but regardless I flew through this book. The setting is so eerie and familiar you have no problem getting sucked into the story and the scary bits aren't so much scary as much as just disturbing thriller-like elements. (Not to downplay some of the stuff that happens in this book, if you don't like reading any gore whatsoever this one will still be too much for you) One of my favorite horrors I've read for the pure uniqueness of this book!
