Do you have those times when your mind is completely blank and you can’t seem to snap out of it. Well, that’s where I’ve been since the beginning of 2021. I was in the roll with so many creative ideas, cooking and baking away and keeping kids busy during their winter break, that once the clock hit 12 am on Jan 1st, my mind just went into ‘hibernation’ state.

I think that little hibernation is good for a mind. If you felt or feel the same way, just know you aren’t alone. This time shall pass.

Think positive, appreciate all things that you have and seek creative/uplifting outlets that bring you joy and laughter.

It’s hard to be believe that we are almost half way through December. Which means we are that much closer to the end of this year. For many, this year has been nothing but good and for some it was a year of growth, evolvement, facing our fears and persevering.

In the last couple of weeks, I’ve been pushing myself beyond my fears, doubts, tuning out the outside noise and trying in believe in myself more and what are the things I’m capable of doing. Not second guessing the knowledge that I posses, reaching out for help when needed as well as pivoting as a creator.

Before Welcoming 2021, my plan is writing down my personal and professional goals for the upcoming year. Writing them down helps to be accountable and feels great when each goal is achieved and can be taken off the list.

It’s Black Friday which means it’s the day we buy a Christmas tree. Kids play a big part in picking out a tree and we always do it as a family. We just love seeing excitement on kids faces when we doing it together.

We tend to wait until after Thanksgiving to buy a tree, because we keep it up until about 1 week after New Years. New Years is also big holiday in our family and therefore, tree needs to be able to stay up that long.

Real tree requires watering and cleaning of the needles but I just still love It and willing to do the work. 😁

Last year we decided to buy it @wholefoods because I’ve always loved how their Christmas trees looked. They are open and you can see what you actually buying. We love Frazier Fur, because it looks full, it has this bluish tint to it and it tends to last pretty long time. Plus, @wholefoods has it on sale on Black Friday (plus if you are Prime member you get an additional 10% off) so a win win in my book.

This year I also really wanted to get an artificial whitish tree as well. Still on the hunt for it.

How do you get through the really tough times? When I was a kid and needed encouragement I looked to my good friends. These days, I’ve had to rely a lot on myself and at times reach out to my friends who have been there for me. To be the sound board, someone to cheer me up to encourage me and for me to know that I can succeed. I’ve got a ton I want to achieve and so, with big dreams, comes big support! I would be lost without the support of these people in my life.

I’ve learned that at times letting go of someone who shows no interest in your life, is what needs to be done. Does it hurt, Yes! Do I have questions ‘Why haven’t I been worthy to be checked up on, supported, etc..” Yes! But you know what, its a two-way street, when you care, you will find time to sent a quick text, a phone call and when its been one-way for a long time, than its time.

I’m grateful and feel so lucky to have had constant support from those that matter and I happen to matter to!

When wake up call is at 4:45 am, a drive to the city and waiting over 3 hrs for a cup of coffee.
A quick stop to one of my favorite neighborhood coffee shops is a must.. even if that means cutting close to getting my child home for the zoom class.
Yes, I can make coffee at home but there are days when you need that strong coffee to get you through the day.

Today was a good day. I was able to accomplish some of my to do’s in the morning. In the afternoon, kids and I went for a long walk to town. Oh yeah, and we are babysitting this sweet doggie for the next few weeks.

Kids been amazing in taking her out for walks, feeding her, playing with her in the backyard and loving her. They are already asking for a puppy and I’m just staying silent 😁. I’m happy to see how responsible they are with her (let’s see how long this eagerness for taking care of her lasts).

You know the saying ‘When it rains, it pours’? Well, that’s how the last few weeks been for us. Dealing with some unforeseen house repairs and all I could see are $$$ signs. 🤦‍♀️

I know that we’ll get though it and the storm will pass. So I’ve just been trying to stay calm, optimistic and find positivity through it all. I don’t really see any other way besides to completely fall apart.

Hello there new friends, welcome to @natintheknow. Let’s get to know each other, COVID edition. I live in a house with my three kids and husband in one of the suburbs in the Chicago, where I’ve been spending an awful lot of time these days.

During the quarantine, I’ve been drinking lots of coffee and eating more than usual of my favorite spicy Cheetos from @wholefoods . As well as doing homeschooling (which many of us have been doing), a lot of cleaning, laundry, cooking, reading, doing some work, watching my favorite shows when kids go to bed, and try to keep up with conditioning class along side my kids.

I’ve been feeling all kind of emotions during this time, (depending on the day) and let me tell you there have been plenty of dark days. I’be been coping with it by staying off the news, staying positive, reflecting on everything in my life, people in my life, working out, and concentrating on my family.

It’s been a wild ride, to say the least. I’m looking forward to having places start opening up soon and getting out there.
