Day 24 of the 30 Day Spring Cleaning Challenge - VACUUMING THE RUG
.
The goal today was thoroughly clean my rug. I have a @ruggable so if I needs to be washed I can toss it into the washer and wash it. Mine has no stains and so I didn’t think washing it was necessary. I decided I was just going to thoroughly vacuum it.
.
I also knew I wanted to vacuum the rug parts that were being covered by the couch. So I pushed back the couch and was shook with how dirty it was…I mean didn’t it look dirty? That is legit the dirtiest area of my home. Yikes 😬
.
Anyhow, I’ll show you how I cleaned it for Day 25.

Day 21 of the 30 Day Spring Cleaning Challenge - SPOT CLEANING THE SOFA.
.
This couch is so comfortable - my mom actually gave it to me. It’s massive and perfect for napping. Stains happen from time to time - if they’re bad I try to clean it right away with Folex - if not, I wait for times like this to bring out my dusty spot clean pro machine to get the job done.
.
You can rent machines like this at hardware stores or you can also call in a professional. I have done that before with great results and the price was just over $100.

Day 19 of the 30 Day Spring Cleaning Challenge - HOW TO CLEAN YOUR PLANTS FOR GROWING SEASON

If you have plants - get them ready for spring. Dust, water, fertilize, give them some structure and don’t forget to clean their pots.
.
I used to be a black thumb - but once you understand the importance of sun, water, nutrients and less is definitely more you’ll be green thumb in no time. Plants are truly a blessing and have so many benefits in a home.

Day 16 of the 30 Day Spring Cleaning Challenge - HOW TO CLEAN THE MATTRESS AND BED

Cleaning the bed definitely took some time. If I could share two tips:

If you have stains on your mattress - treat those with a spot treater like Folex or use a spot cleaning machine. If it’s really bad, hire a professional. Then buy a mattress protector to avoid doing this step.
.
I use the stem cleaner to freshen up the mattress and blast away dust mites, etc. I suggest doing this earlier in the day so your mattress has an opportunity to dry. Open your windows or use a fan to help it dry quicker.
.
Oh yeah, don’t forget to vacuum underneath your beds. As you can see, mine was filled with dust bunnies. Fortunately my Dyson sucked it right up.

Day 17 of the 30 Day Spring Cleaning Challenge - HOW TO CLEAN FLOORS AND BASEBOARDS

Are you sick of me yet? I feel like I’m popping up in your timeline every single morning with something new that I’m cleaning.
.
Don’t worry, we’re almost done this spring cleaning challenge and then we can move on to something else.
.
Anyhow, when’s the last time you pushed back your side tables, dressers, tables, etc to clean your baseboards and your floors? I did this in the bedroom and I’m always surprised at the size of the dust bunnies. Ugh…dust…it’s always there for you. Where does it come from? I know the answer but still 🤷🏽‍♀️
.
Using the right tools made the process rather easy - cleaning for me is often more about the effort. When I get to the living room - I know behind the couch - is gonna be a mess. I’m not sure if I’m brave enough to show it or not 🥺
.

DAY 11 of the 30 Day Spring Cleaning Challenge - WASHING MACHINE, DRYER AND VENT CLEANING
.
When’s the last time you cleaned your washing machine? I know it sounds weird that we have to clean it but for it to work effectively it is recommended to do it monthly..
.
My Whirlpool ThinTwin washer dryer stack is well over 15 years old and fortunately it’s been good to me. Apparently we need a new agitator - but I am probably leaning towards replacing it with fancy new machine machines - we’ll see.
.
Also, did you see all that “fluff” I removed from the air vent? IF you need a suggestion on a spring cleaning chore suggestion - clean your air vents especially by your laundry room.
.
That’s a wrap on the on the laundry closet - next up the bedroom. What will you clean today?
