Even the original caddy if you don’t feel like doing the DIY! 🤪 This bathtub caddy I swear transformed my whole bathroom!😍😍 I went on @mcgeeandco and so badly wanted this caddy, but could not spend over $100 for something I knew Chris could make! So I headed to @homedepot picked up some poplar wood (McGee and Co used Mango wood, which I am sure is way better but they didn’t have that there. So I opted for Poplar since it didn’t have any knots.) How we made it: 1. Figured out the shape we wanted 2. Used the jig saw to cut it out 3. Sanded it with an electric sander, mainly sanded the edges so that it was SUPER smooth, you know how antique furniture is more smooth and rounded on the edges as it ages, that’s what I was going for! 4. Time to rough it up! We got a chisel and started digging out deep lines (just like how the McGee and Go one shows!) 5. Then created a custom stain, we did “weathered oak” with a small amount of “espresso” 6. Lastly we drilled holes and added dowels to attach another piece of wood so that the caddy doesn’t slide around on the tub. Then stained the whole thing! And that’s it! Styled it, and bam, this piece transformed the whole bathroom area, it gave it so much character and such a fun styling moment.
