Outfits for a postpartum mama of 3 who is trying to get back in shape and lose a little weight.

At 12, I was hauling toolboxes up narrow staircases, cutting copper pipes and threaded rod, and cleaning out fittings with a metal brush on a drill to get them shiny and ready for my dad to solder. I was the designated helper, and he didn’t go easy on me. Now I’m designing dream homes while my toddlers crash toy trucks into my material samples. This wasn’t exactly the plan—but I’m glad it’s where I ended up.

Growing up working with my dad taught me to pay attention to the details and take pride in doing things right the first time. I went on to earn a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, which gave me the technical foundation I still lean on today. But it wasn’t until 2020, when I left my government job and took a leap to build something of my own, that I really found my lane.

Now, I run Houseal Construction with my husband, Kyle. I handle design, marketing, and the million little things that keep our business running—while raising our three kids: Evan, Hazel, and Gryffin. Yep, they all share one bedroom in our 1400-square-foot house… for now. That firsthand experience of squeezing the most out of small spaces has majorly influenced the way I design—and honestly, it’s one of the reasons this brand exists.

I care about creating spaces that work. That feel good, look good, and actually make your life easier. When you’re juggling kids, clients, job sites, and the occasional baby strapped to your hip while vacuuming drywall dust with the shop vac… you learn fast that every square inch matters.

Some days I’m sketching tile layouts with a baby drooling on my notebook. Other days I’m picking up vanities, hauling samples, or trying to keep the dogs from stepping in wet paint.

My dream? To keep pushing the boundaries of what functional, beautiful design can look like—through Houseal Construction, Bienvenue & Co, and whatever comes next. These brands are all tied together by a simple goal: helping people live better in the spaces they already call home.

Here I share my passion for design, and the beautiful, messy, everyday reality of building a business and raising a family at the same time.

Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here. ✨
Running errands outfit for a nice spring day. My top and shoes are from a local clothing boutique that I love, but I linked similar items.

Wore this look for my headshots, and to be honest—it was just outside my comfort zone. Not because of the outfit itself (I love a blazer moment), but because I’m a year postpartum after having three kids, and I’m still figuring out how to feel at home in my body again.

But I showed up anyway. I chose to wear something that reflects the version of myself I’m growing into—even if I’m not totally comfortable in my skin right now.

I’m 5’2”, 185 lbs, usually a size 12/14. These jeans are a 14 from American Eagle (could’ve done a 12, but I like the looser fit). Blazer + bandeau are from Amazon, and the nails are Etsy finds I’m obsessed with.

Here’s to getting dressed for the life you want, not just the body you have today.

Easy work-from-home outfit of the day

Comfortable, casual, and still makes me feel like me.

This “Small Business Mama” tee has quickly become one of my favorites—it’s more than just a shirt. It reminds me I’m not alone in this wild ride of motherhood + entrepreneurship. There’s a whole community of mamas out there doing the same.

Paired it with these breathable linen shorts and cozy slippers for the perfect get-stuff-done-from-home look.

I also rolled on Nest’s Indian Jasmine, which I’ve been loving for spring and summer—light, fresh, and just the right amount of floral.

Everything’s linked here on LTK!

Trying on two pairs of American Eagle jeans so you don’t have to.
First up: the barrel jeans (size 12). These ran big on me—super roomy in the thighs and just overpowered my petite frame. I have a strong hourglass shape, and these had major waist gapping… so they’re going back.
Second pair: Curvy Stovepipe jeans (light wash, size 14). These were a win! No waist gap, comfortable through the waist and hips, and I love the straight-leg cut. I could size down, but they’d likely be too tight on my stomach when sitting—so I’m sticking with the 14.

For reference: I’m 5’2”, weigh 185 lbs, and have a muscular hourglass build. I’m also one year postpartum with baby #3, so comfort and fit matter more than ever right now.

Both pairs are linked here on LTK if you’re also on the hunt for jeans that actually fit a curvy body.

I wasn’t looking for new sneakers… but they found me.
These neutral retro-style sneakers were an instant yes—the kind of shoe that somehow works with everything. Styled them with dark green leggings, a cropped black tee, and (of course) stole my husband’s black denim jacket to finish the look.

Comfy, casual, and a little vintage without trying too hard. Linking the exact pair and similar styles in case they found you too.
