how do you explain this feeling to someone who doesn’t have kids? 🥹☁️

it’s staying up way too late putting tiny party hats on toy story characters because you know it’ll make them smile.

it’s making a custom coloring book with their name on it because they’ll think it’s the coolest thing ever.

it’s decorating a basic cake yourself because they’re not gonna remember if it was bakery-perfect… they’re gonna remember that it was their Toy Story cake.

we don’t do huge birthday parties over here.

just a few decorations (that can actually be reused), a simple cake, a couple gifts, and an experience we’ll remember forever 🤍

this year’s theme for Jaspers 4th bday was “Reach Four the Sky” 🚀☁️🤠

the backdrop, banner, toys, and decorations? all things i’ll use again. the toy story figures were already his. i spent less than $100 on everything, and honestly… his reaction was worth more than any over-the-top party ever could’ve been 🥹

today we’re taking him to see Toy Story 5, and i already know that’s what he’ll remember most 🍿🎬

a reminder that you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to create childhood magic. sometimes it’s just paying attention to the little things that become the big memories.

i just finished reading GET A FINANCIAL LIFE; PERSONAL FINANCE IN YOUR TWENTIES & THIRTIES by Beth Kobliner and i genuinely think this should be required reading the second you turn 18.

nobody taught me anything about money growing up. i entered adulthood completely lost—student loans i didn’t know how to tackle, credit i barely understood, no retirement savings as a self-employed person, and homeownership feeling like a pipe dream.

this book addressed all of it. practically. clearly. no jargon, no B.S.
