We’ve been upgrading the finishes in our builder grade home one by one. Here are some things we did in the kitchen- Luckily I work PT at Home Depot, so most of it came from there, but everything will be linked in my LTK page • replaced granite countertops with quartz • replaced sink and faucet • added a reverse osmosis filter •replaced microwave with an OG recirculating fan (less work than a hood plus we like the low profile, and we installed it ourselves !) . I lamented on the fact that I don’t wear these wide leg cropped jeans much, so I decided to make an effort to create an outfit that I could wear to a meeting last night. Barn jackets are back, and this recent purchase is cropped and works well with high waisted bottoms. This slip on sneaker works because the chunkiness balances the volume of the wide leg jeans, and I just kept the striped tee I was wearing earlier. A tale of 2 stylish shoppers. While shopping in Wilmington last week, I encountered several stylish shoppers-more elevates in their dress than those I encounter in casual Brunswick county on the daily. I asked ChatGPT to recreate their images and it did a surprisingly good job! What was the common denominator that made these woman so chic, despite the insane levels of heat and humidity we were experiencing. There were similarities. Each wore a loose fitting dress, they both had their hair up-one in a French twist, secured by a claw clip, the other in a simple red ribbon that matched her lipstick, and they both had on oversized dressy earrings! That was what really surprised me! They may have just gotten off work, but it inspired me to up my game while out and about.

It’s been a minute since I’ve bought clothes so I thought I’d share my bargains with you. The cotton knit tops did shrink, as I thought they might, so I sized up to an XL, where I usually take a medium or large. I took a 10 in the jeans and large in the woven tops because I’m fluffier than usual lately. I chose a song by Jamiroquai because one of the best concerts I ever watched on screen was Jamiroquai at the Montreux Jazz Festival 1995. I watched it on a plane on the way home from Sydney and became a fan, but I have not been able to find it online so if you do please let me know. Everything is in my LTK shop

It’s not easy to find a rug with gray in it that doesn’t fall flat. This rug has beautiful shades of terracotta mixed with charcoal gray in a muted traditional pattern. It feels like velvet under your feet and is easy care.
