Velvet Skin

This fall, the focus is shifting from dewy radiance to a more plush, velvet-like complexion. Velvet skin is all about a softly matte finish that looks smooth, touchable, and natural. Think of velvet skin as a balance between glow and polish: skin that looks refined and perfected but still alive. The trend ties into the season’s emphasis on texture, mirroring the tactile richness of autumn fabrics like suede and velvet.

You can achieve velvet skin with foundation or powder (or both) depending on what your skin needs and the level of coverage you want.

Cool Gray Eyes

As a cool-toned girl myself, I’m loving this trend. This season is all about replacing warm bronzes and golds from summer and instead opting for cool gray tones. From soft washes of dove gray to smoky charcoal blends, this trend offers a modern alternative to traditional fall colors. Gray shadow also pairs perfectly with the other season-defining trends, like balancing bold lips or enhancing the quiet elegance of velvet skin (both mentioned in this post).

Tightlined Eyes

If you’re new to tightlining, it’s basically lining the upper waterline of the eyes. Unlike heavy winged liner, this technique enhances the lash line from within, creating an illusion of fuller lashes and sharper eyes without overwhelming the look. The result is a crisp, refined eye look that pairs beautifully with both dramatic lips and soft, neutral palettes. The best part? You can use any color you like! Try black or brown for a traditional look or a nude or white to look more awake.

Before trying this trend, make sure you’re applying the product safely (and maybe avoid it altogether if you have super senstives eyes or allergies). Opt for waterproof, gentle formulas whenever possible.

Black Cherry Lips

Deep, dramatic lips are making a comeback this fall, with black cherry leading the charge. This shade strikes the perfect balance between sultry and sophisticated: it’s darker than a classic red, but warmer and more approachable than black or brown. You can also try sheer tints vs. full on lip color if you don’t think you can pull off the color (this is what I would do). It complements fall fashion’s rich jewel tones and cozy textures, making it a versatile statement lip for day or night.

McGee & Co Halloween Home Decor

If you’re looking for a slightly gothic, slightly vintage Halloween vibe for your home, then you’ll probably like the pieces below from McGee & Co. Their 2026 collection features natural textures, muted tones (like a gorgeous sage pumpkin), and lots of sculptural accents for a look that is more stylish than kitschy (if kitschy is your thing, keep scrolling for some better recommendations). My favorite piece is the wicker witch hats.

World Market Halloween Home Decor

World Market is an often-overlooked store for home decor, and I think the collage below just reinforces that. After all, where else can you find pumpkin skeletons doing yoga, a candy corn adorned tree, or Halloween Russian nesting dolls?

Pottery Barn Halloween Home Decor

Whimsical-meets-eerie is how I would describe the decor pieces below from Pottery Barn. This year they have a few new styles of their viral pillows based on the original “Gus the Ghost” (the kitten and puppy versions are so cute!)

West Elm Halloween Home Decor

If you’re looking for a modern and artsy vibe this Halloween, check out these pieces from West Elm. It blends abstract, design-forward pieces (like the eye trinket box and ghost art plates) with playful, slightly spooky accents (like the plush spider and skeleton garland).

Early Fall Fashion from Quince

If you’re a fan of minimalist, polished, and versatile pieces and you haven’t tried Quince yet, what are you waiting for? Their early fall arrivals focus on timeless silhouettes and rich, earthy tones (camel, beige, rust, and brown). The pieces below are great for layering and can be worn with a ton of different items, making them perfect for your work wardrobe (I wear my Quince sweater blazer all year long and just change it up depending on the season).

Early Fall Fashion from Loft

This Loft early fall collection leans into a casual, playful, and slightly retro aesthetic. Some trends in their women’s arrivals I saw when browsing both online and the store in-person are denim (not just jeans — dresses and skirts), textured knits, feminine details like puff sleeves and bows, and then lots of pops of burgundy (which seems to be falls “it” color every year).

Early Fall Fashion from Old Navy

Me + Old Navy Super Cash = a great relationship. I end up buying a ton of new items for my kids and then I get Super Cash to spend on myself a month or so later! Needless to say I’ll be ordering some early fall goodies for myself shortly. Trends I’m loving in their early fall collection include ruffles, faux leather pieces, and wide leg denim and trousers. I already have the plaid tiered dress and plan on wearing it soon when I have an in-office presentation later this month.

Early Fall Fashion from Tuckernuck

If you’re a fan of classic-preppy style with a contemporary and slightly elevated twist, then Tuckernuck is for you. Key trends from their early fall arrivals include rich textures like tweed, leather, and corduroy, classic silhouettes with feminine details (flounce hems, for example), and lightweight pieces for layering.

Early Fall Fashion from J Crew

No one does classic style better than J.Crew. Their early fall lineup leans sophisticated and polished with some trendy pieces thrown in. I love the rich fall color palette (for example, I love all the navy as it pairs well with cream and white for late summer/early fall), statement collars, and heritage-inspired elements like plaid patterns and riding boots.

Early Fall Fashion from ASTR (at Nordstrom)

ASTR the Label is one of my go-to brands that Nordstrom carries (Nordstrom’s return policy is better and easier, so I tend to try to order from there vs. the brand’s website). I love the femininity of their pieces — which is why it ends up being a brand I veer towards for dresses and work tops. For early fall, they have lots of romantic pieces (puff sleeves and lace), harvest hues (rich browns and burgundies), and mixed silhouettes (fitted vs. flowy — sometimes together in one outfit).

Lobster Accessories

Inspired by coastal nostalgia and the broader “fisherman aesthetic,” playful lobster motifs have clawed their way (sorry for the pun) into everything from beaded purses and canvas totes to statement jewelry. If you’re on T.J. Maxx/Marshalls TikTok, you probably say the viral lobster beaded shoulder bag that everyone was clamoring over.

Strawberry Accessories

I had a cherry phase in my youth and then now am fully committed to the lemon as part of my “brand”, but strawberries would come in a close 3rd or 4th. Fruit-inspired accents are riding the wave of the broader “fruit fashion” trend, but strawberries seem to be leading the pack thanks to their bold color and cheerful charm this summer.

 #LTKSeasonal #LTKFindsUnder100 #LTKItBag
Fish Accessories

From sculptural fish‑shaped bags to delicate fish‑charm necklaces, this trend captures a playful seaside aesthetic. I almost made this about the sardine trend, but found more fun options when I went for the more generic “fish”.

Crab Accessories

Crabs are another quirky and coastal-inspired motif in women’s accessories that are everywhere this summer. The trend blends whimsy with a nod to maritime tradition, making it perfect for vacation wardrobes and trips to the beach. I bought Stella some crab hairclips that I can’t wait to force her to wear on our Jersey Shore vacation this year.

Olive Accessories

This summer, olives are having a moment in women’s accessories, bringing a touch of Mediterranean charm to the season. Often paired with gold hardware or rustic textures, olive-themed pieces feel both artisanal and playful. I have this tank top from Target that I can’t wait to wear while sipping on a dirty martini this summer.

Seashell Accessories

I’d argue that shell-inspired accessories are always on trend during the summer months, but here we are! These pieces give coastal vibes and natural beauty. From polished cowrie shell earrings to mosaic inlays on handbags, designers are using shells to craft pieces that feel both organic and elevated. Rather than the boho styles of past seasons, this year’s shell trend leans more minimalist and intentional.

Blue Floral Tableware

These budget-friendly Walmart finds are perfect if your style is more rustic farmhouse. Since the colors are subdued and the pattern isn’t overwhelming, these pieces are super versatile for seasons even beyond summer.

Lemon Tableware

Zest up your table (sorry for the pun!) with this lemon tableware set. This lemon-themed tableware set is vibrant yet still tasteful.

Tomato Tableware

While I don’t love raw tomatoes, I still find this tableware set so cute and perfect for summer! The brushstrokes visible in the tomato illustrations give them an organic, artistic feel, making each piece feel unique. The color palette of creamy white, vibrant red, and verdant green is quintessentially summer, evoking images of sun-drenched gardens and al fresco dining.

Crab and Lobster Tableware

Make waves at your next summer gathering with this striking lobster-and-crab-themed tableware set. Perfect for seafood boils, beach picnics, or nautical-inspired parties, this collection brings a punchy New England vibe to your table with its vivid red-and-blue palette and playful marine illustrations. The set features bold plates and platters adorned with oversized lobster and crab prints, trimmed with a rope-like blue border that adds a sailor’s knot of charm.

Sardine Tableware

If you’re dreaming of seaside escapes and breezy Mediterranean meals, this sardine-themed tableware set delivers the perfect nautical touch. With hand-painted plates and bowls featuring whimsical fish motifs in soft coastal hues of blue and yellow, this collection brings the charm of a seaside bistro straight to your patio or beach house table.

Orange Citrus Tableware

Nothing says summer quite like citrus, and this vibrant tableware set captures the essence of the season in every detail. Featuring hand-painted orange and blossom motifs, this collection brings a sunny, Mediterranean charm to your table. The set pairs beautifully with natural textures, like the woven rattan placemat, which adds an earthy contrast to the ceramic pieces and brings a relaxed, coastal vibe.

Abercrombie Summer Finds

Sometimes I feel like a grandma walking into Abercrombie because I’m surrounded by fit 20-somethings in their baggy jeans. But since my style can be pretty youthful overall, I gravitate towards that youthful vibe (especially during summer when I can get away with it more). I’m loving the cut-outs and tie details on their summer pieces.
