At one point, I experienced debilitating back pain from a disc bulge, leaving me feeling like an elderly person in my 20s. I went through the typical healthcare route—X-rays, MRIs, and temporary fixes—but luckily avoided surgery. It wasn't until I discovered core bracing that I finally found relief. Now, as a weightlifting instructor and doctor of physical therapy, I teach others how to prevent pain and lift safely. I also incorporate stability-focused movements into my own training, allowing me to lift heavy without pain (well, heavy-ish, postpartum recovery still in progress!).
