Spicy Mongolian Ground Beef Recipe 🌶️🍳🍚

high-protein dinner, made in 30 min and tastes better than takeout. ~30g protein per serving with a fried egg on top

INGREDIENTS
marinate the beef:
1 lb ground beef
2 tsp shaoxing wine (optional)
1 tsp soy sauce
1/4 tsp baking soda

sauce:
3/4 cup hot water
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tsp dark soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)

everything else:
1/4 cup oil
3-8 dried red chili peppers
2 tsp minced ginger
4 scallions, cut on a diagonal
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 fried egg per serving

INSTRUCTIONS

1. make the sauce: combine hot water, soy sauce, dark soy, and brown sugar. mix the cornstarch slurry separately.
2. heat oil in your pan on high. add chili peppers, ginger, scallion whites, and garlic. cook till fragrant.
3. add the beef and cook till browned.
pour in some of the sauce, simmer, then stir in the slurry till it thickens.
4. toss in scallion greens till wilt. serve over steamed rice and veggies, topped with a fried egg!
