This main bathroom used to be an enclosed porch! We added a sealed brick floor and piece of marble we found in the house, during demo, to a DIY vanity to keep this house on budget. One luxury we added is the Delta Trinsic shower trim kit. These shower heads provide better water coverage, more warmth, and more intensity. Being on a tight budget for this home, we decided to use drop cloth curtains. I love the neutral color and texture they add for very little money. For a casual look, we folded them at the top and used clip rings with a curved black out rod. This main bedroom is a good size with a large closet. We knew we wanted to place the bed in front of the window. In this bathroom we chose a wall mounted vanity from IKEA that is space saving, has lots of storage, and is budget friendly. We mixed metals with the faucet, mirror, and shower trim. All of these metal finishes speak to the mixed metals in the kitchen that is near this bathroom. Gaining a third bedroom for this house made all the difference for our budget. We used IKEA Pax wardrobes and doors flanking the bed with built in DIY nightstands that mirror the corbels on the exterior of the home. With space being tight we knew we needed sconces for bedside lights. The sconces we used were from World Market and are no longer available, but we loved the wicker shades. This kitchen is full of budget friendly DIYs and beautiful copper accents. The custom open shelving cabinets were a great save, and even though the copper hood looks like a splurge - it was a DIY, too! A dine in kitchen always feels so cozy, and the copper and wood tones add a lot of warmth. Some great dupes for the ladder back chairs are linked below. Adding two large pendant lanterns made the dining space still feel special. This open concept living room and dine in kitchen still feels so spacious even after we stole square footage for a third bedroom. We restored a beautiful Queen Anne window in this living room and we knew that we didn’t want to cover her up! The top down/bottom up shades were the perfect solution for privacy and allowing that window to shine. We kept a fun, casual feel in the living room with comfortable seating and accents. The leather pillows come in a great set and make mixing and matching easy. It is surprising how large this main bedroom feels in this 656 square foot home. By keeping the wainscoting light, it adds texture and a spacious feeling and also interest to the walls. The subtle wallpaper in a neutral color way and tropical pattern adds another layer, and continues the beachy feel of this home. The wallpaper is peel and stick, which is a great option for easy application and removal. The bed and bedding listed below are great dupes to achieve this pattern on pattern look. We continued the layered look by using two rugs in this space. The Terracotta Sky rug is one that we have used often and honestly looks great in so many different spaces. Would you believe that this bathroom is space that didn’t even exist in the original floor plan? This used to be stairs to the storage area under the house. We knew we could put this space to better use! This bathroom opens directly off the kitchen and additionally to one of the bedrooms. We found this great vanity that was not too large but still had great style and most importantly storage. Taking the bath tile and the striped shower curtain all the way up to the ceiling made the space feel bigger. We also had just enough room to tuck a small ceramic stool in here. One of the best space saving things we did for this house, was to use this pass through space for a generous sized galley kitchen! The counter space and cabinet storage for such a small amount of square footage feels like a luxury. Who would have thought a hallway could make such a fun kitchen? By using unfinished cabinets, we could choose a fun paint color and were able to continue the beachy feel of the main room. Pairing affordable butcher block countertops with unfinished wood pulls and knobs make this kitchen set up very budget friendly. Kingston Brass makes beautiful bridge faucets that add a bit of the historical touch that we love. They are affordable and come in several finish options. We also used the cordless woven blinds that we love, and are used throughout the house. Another view of the main living area, shows you that the front door enters right into this room. The first thing you see is the fun swinging chair! Most swinging chairs are a bit larger this one, and we knew we would be tight on space. The World Market chair we used comes with a base, but we decided to use a hanging kit and make it a swing. So much more fun! Wasting no space in this 656 square foot home, placing the dining area in this corner of the main living room gives great access to the kitchen and also a great spot for doing other things like card games, puzzles and extra seating. The unfinished dining table and bench were such a great option. We liked the natural look with the rest of the beachy accents, but choosing unfinished meant that we could have stained, painted or white washed - endless options! The bench was a great choice because it can be extra seating for the living room, too. The DIY banquette opposite the bench also doubles as storage - no wasted space! With only 656 square feet, we knew this space needed to pack a punch! The living area and dining area share space in this main room, and we wanted it to feel cohesive with a natural, beachy feel throughout. The basket style coffee tables were a one-off find, but we found some great dupes at an affordable price point to get this look. Adding a DIY picture ledge behind the sofa was a great way to get layered art on the walls, and add a ton of style without feeling too busy in this small space. The sconces complete that wall and give some definition to the living space.
