Have you ever started to design or decorate a room in your home, pinned a bunch of images on Pinterest and then gotten completely overwhelmed and just given up? Let me tell you, I get it.
.
In a world with SO many options, so many inspiration photos and cool ideas, it's hard to narrow down where to even begin.
.
Here's my advice: choose that ONE thing you HAVE to have in your space. Is it a fabulous patterned wallpaper? A gorgeous lacquered credenza? A rug that you've been eyeing for months, fabulous wall color or a sofa that you've always wanted? Start there.
.
Commit to that one thing first. In my case, I KNEW I was going to have a faux living wall with a neon sign. I didn't know I would have the green sofa or leopard chair when I started down the path. I had an inkling of what I might do but I let it evolve over time. I committed to the faux wall, got it in the space and then made my next decision.
.
It's impossible to design a room with ALL moving parts. You must choose THAT ONE THING you love and *have* to put in your space and then build it from there. This should typically be a physically larger piece or a statement-maker. You don't have to literally put that thing in your space and wait until you do to make the next decision (though sometimes this is helpful!) but you do have to mentally commit.
.
Once you start with that one thing, I promise the next step will be easier.
