I had a jam packed day yesterday with friends but today I’m getting back to work on house projects! I’ll be working on the bathroom and maybe we’ll even get trim up in the gym 🤞 In the meantime, I need Sunday dinner ideas…. Ready, go! 👇

Our porch renovation officially finished up over the weekend with the addition of trim around the french doors and a faceplate over the light switch 😂 why is the last 5% is always the hardest!? This space is our favorite in the house (I mean, our kitchen and living room are close seconds!) and it is cozy and inviting year round, at any time of the day. It didn’t need much to make it feel fresh- we replaced the ceiling fan with a sleek, modern one, replaced the old carpet with slate tile, tore out the dusty shades and added cozy drapes, and of course some installed new furniture. Making the room feel updated without painting the paneling was a design challenge and I was up for it! I leaned into the “modern cabin” vibe by sourcing lots of plaid patterns, a cool vintage rug, a super comfy sofa, and a variety of wood tones in the furniture. The result is a unique, relaxed, comfortable yet interesting space that draws you in and makes you want to stay for an extra cup of coffee or glass of wine! Now we just have to cheer on Benji the ficus tree to keep surviving and growing new leaves after his mealy bug illness😂 I am going to work on the blog post over the next few days so let me know if you have any questions about our porch below!

Morning light and fall leaf views ☕️ lowering the curtain rods is on our last 5% list in here- hoping to accomplish this weekend😜 happy Monday!

After working a LOT (70 hours to be exact 😅) in the last 6 days, I needed a morning to sleep in and sip my coffee on the porch ☕️ even though this space still isn’t 100% finished, it still makes me so relaxed and content. Peep the cat condo in the corner- Percy likes it, too 😅 #reallife I now have 4 days off and we have big renovation goals for the weekend on the main floor! Today I’m going to put a coat of poly on the bookshelves and stair handrails. As always, I’ll share in stories so you can follow along all weekend long! I really really really want to get this main floor finished ASAP so we can finish the entryway floor before the snow flies (which might be just a couple months away 😳)!

Hope everyone is having an amazing Labor Day weekend and you’re as relaxed as Dexter (swipe!) 😂 I’m at work all weekend but Josh has had a few days to have fun and then he’ll tackle a couple projects like these french doors hopefully tomorrow! 🤞 We found out we should be getting the railings installed on the stairs either towards the end of this week or early next week 👏 and then lots of finish work to do on this floor but we’re getting closer!
