everyone talks about their childhood friends, but nobody talks about the friends you make in your 30s that you instantly click with & can’t imagine living life without 🫶🏼 sktraveltime . story time: I moved across the country from my home state of Utah in 2018 to go to grad school at Clemson. It was my first time living out of state and with that came a lot of loneliness. I lost touch with some of the people I cherished the most. . Tbh, I was nervous to go back home to visit after moving away. My lifestyle had changed, my body had changed, and I didn’t feel like I had my community there anymore. It took me almost four years to go back to visit because of my insecurities. . Then, in 2022 I was invited on a sailing trip by a former roommate with a group of girls from Utah. It was intimidating but I had been praying to reconnect with my community, so I went. On that trip, I made some of my best friends who I just know will be my friends for life. Now, Utah feels like the home again and I find myself visiting more often. . FAST FORWARD TO THIS WEEK: WE ARE BACK ON A BOAT TOGETHER! We have some new additions this year and it’s been great getting to know them while developing even deeper connections with my lifelong friends. . This post was inspired by @lulus newest campaign “Friends for Life,” celebrating the power of female friendships. Lulus has been my go-to since my Greek life days & have continued to be there for the moments I feel the most beautiful and alive. . Their campaign is a love letter to all who celebrate and embrace all of the pivotal life moments and emotions shared while wearing Lulus—be it joy, vulnerability, or excitement for what lies ahead.
