Sharing this shared boys’ closet before + after from our final project of 2024. This was a full closet renovation. We started by discussing the family’s needs and worked closely with the closet designer to maximize space + bring function to life. The boys had very little hang items (as boys generally do) so we made sure we included two towers with deep drawers for each of them and utilized shelving on the deep left wall for baskets to hold out of season items. These items, like shorts, can be easily swapped with the bottoms and sweatpants currently in the drawers for the season. We took advantage of the space behind the closet doors with Elfa Door Organizers from @thecontainerstore to hold soccer uniforms and other items like hats and backpacks. The best part is how the boys can now find what they need and dress themselves. The prior set up did not encourage independence and added stress to mom’s mental load.
