I’ve been getting a lot of questions about trench coats lately.

My take: if you’re in the Midwest or anywhere with a colder climate, go for a lined, 100% cotton trench—it’ll give you the structure and warmth you actually need.

If you’re in a warmer place like Florida or the West Coast, an unlined version makes a lot more sense. You’ll still get the look without overheating.
