What I wore to my uncle's funeral to be helpful because an unfortunate fact of life is that at some point we'll all have to attend a one. Keep it simple: modest, dark neutral colors (typically black but navy or gray is fine), simple jewelry, hair & makeup. The objective is to be respectful by looking good but not drawing too much attention to yourself. There will always be exceptions to this based on culture, religion or the wishes of the deceased, but this is a good rule of thumb.
