Basement

By suzannahstanley

Finally got this up! My laundry room wasn’t ever really finished and felt plain, and I also didn’t have a great place to hang things to dry. So cute and functional!
This one is from Pulley Maid, and I’m linking a similar one if you comment SHOP.

Took years but finally finished this laundry room and I’m so grateful for it! Despite it being down a couple flights of stairs. Made the best of it! Blog post up this week includes all the sources, plant colors, etc. plus a link to the full basement project and budget.

A basement laundry room is not the dream, but I’m pretty proud of how cute this one is! Took 2 years due to it being part of the larger basement project, and of course a divorce and becoming the only adult around here. Latest addition is the drying rack! Linked what I could in this LTK post, blog post coming very soon.

Linking some favorite affordable vintage rugs like this one in the basement playroom!

This is the last room I designed (/installed/finished) and is more representative of my current style than a lot of the other rooms in my house like the kitchen and main bathroom of 2019, but it’s in the basement and when the TV show was filming they didn’t even consider filming down here because it’s not connected to the main part of the house so the flow wouldn’t work. ☹️ Well, here it is for you again.
Antique store mirror, FB dresser, Amazon lights and towel bars, DIY pleated shades and sink skirt. Linked what I could in the @shop.ltk app!

Shared the tutorial for this sink skirt on the blog today! I’ve made three sinks now, a couple different methods, and when I was making the first ones I couldn’t find many resources online for how they were actually constructed and attached. So I figured it out! This one was a little bit more complicated so I shared this method plus a few hacks to make it simpler. This is a great beginner sewing project!

The #oneroomchallenge bathroom is done! I’m very happy with it! English country inspired, with historic vibes for our 1930’s Tudor revival home, plus some of my favorite semi traditional touches like pleated sconce shades and a sink skirt. Lots of DIY tutorials and project posts coming soon cause I did most of it in the past week 😂🤦‍♀️ Check out the blog post for details and a full cost breakdown!

About 6 weeks late, but I finally have this mood board put together. Classic chrome for the finishes that will touch water (because I’m old-fashioned), three patterns!!!, an antique mirror, and brass sconces, although the actual ones are already installed and this one goes in the guest room. But you get the idea. That blue color is Sherwin-Williams Refuge and will be on the beadboard and trim in this room and the rest of the basement.
This is definitely a more adventurous look for me, compared to any of the other bathrooms I’ve done! I’m having fun and playing around and not going for perfection.
It’s about to heat up for this #oneroomchallenge, follow along in stories and on my blog!
