About a week ago, I realized that we didn’t eat dinner outside on the patio a single time last summer! So I moved everything back up to the patio this week and set up our first outdoor dinner of the year. This is one of those little intentional things that I want to try to do at least once a week this summer.

Last week I dropped by a friends’ house and she was apologizing for the state of her backyard.

Laughing, I told her “Don’t feel bad, you should see my yard. I haven’t done a thing in it this summer!”

And I truly haven’t, other than planting a handful of plants, pulling a few weeds at the start of the season when I still had energy, and setting up some impact sprinklers on automatic timers.

In past years I loved standing outside at night hand watering all my plants- but we were so busy this summer, that just didn’t happen.

Despite my utter and total neglect, however, I’m happy to report I do have a few survivors, thanks to my diy irrigation.

If you don’t have drip and want to save some time, these sprinklers + a timer are the way to go! I’m linking the ones I use plus some of my backyard and patio favorites.

Have you ever heard of a settee?

Similar to a low bench or small loveseat, a settee is a versatile piece of furniture that you should definitely consider as you build your home furnishing collection.

A settee is great for a narrow hallway, entryway seating, extra seating in a living room or even a dining bench!

I selected this piece for our master bedroom- it’s the perfect size for the foot of a king bed! It comes in tons of fabrics. I chose my favorite chenille slate!

I also linked my bedding from Target. I’ve had it for over a year and it’s held up so well!

Looking for a unique writing desk or small console table?

15 minute bathroom sink cabinet project ✔️

Target Brightroom’s under skunk organizer units (in the bathroom aisle) are game changers. They help you utilize alllll the vertical space you have and magically organize your bathroom.

I used the sliding drawers, a clear lazy Susan, bin clip labels, and a 2 tier organizer (not shown) to completely transform the space under my sink in less time than I sit in carpool line every day.

After discussing a client’s vanity needs for a project, I realized that I hadn’t had a proper vanity since I lived in my parents’ house!

Combining a gorgeous Pottery Barn writing desk, an old gold mirror and a spare cube (the most versatile furnishing piece ever) with a few vanity organizers from Target gave me a dedicated dressing table in my bedroom and it has totally upgraded the way I experience doing my hair and makeup.

I’m getting ready to head to Florida next week for my daughter’s last cheer performance of the season, which means it’s time to pull out my travel stash. Being a sports mom means a LOT more travel, so I basically keep all these things packed and ready to go.

When I’m designing vacation homes and VRBOs, we’re always looking for clever ways to add more sleeping space. I found these convertible sleepers for our cabin remodel project and couldn’t be happier with them!

They are a 3-in-1 product; they lie flat as an ottoman (shown here), the back elevates to make them a chair, and the footboard slides out to create a twin size bed!

We pushed two together here so in the chair position they make a loveseat for watching movies or playing video games.
