I had an orphan in my closet… and I’m pretty sure you have some too. A wardrobe orphan is an item that is really pretty great. You love it, it fits you well and suits your lifestyle. However, any time you bring it out to wear, you just can’t make it work. Somehow the outfit won’t come together. This is the problem with orphaned pieces, they don’t have a family to integrate with. So they are all alone. This is why I have the rule that I must be able to style any item I bring home in at least 3 outfits before I decide to keep it. …and if you already have orphans and want to make them work? It’s one of the over 40 rules, frameworks and truths I share in The Framework. (Check my bio for more information).
