HERE'S HOW👇 because i know that baking sourdough feels really intimidating to a lot of people and my sincere belief is that the mental hurdle is the hardest part of learning to bake sourdough so here's your guide to actually just learning in the least overwhelming way possible. 1. buy your starter (or get some from a friend). do not mess around with trying to make a starter from scratch. established starters are a lot more forgiving and that way you don't invest a bunch of mental effort and frustration into babysitting a beginner starter. 2. take good care of your starter but don't be a slave to it. if you're busy keep it in the fridge most of the time and pull it out to feed 2 times before making a loaf. 3. find a recipe/method of baking sourdough that is being taught in a way that you understand. i have a sourdough highlight on instagram where i have a step-by-step photo guide and explanation of how i bake sourdough so you can follow it super easily! i also have a recipe for a lazy sourdough loaf where you don't have to do anything to it all day like with the normal stretch and folds. 4. practice and have fun. even if you do everything right, sometimes you just need to make a few loaves to get the hang of it and feel more confident. don't sweat a few wonky first loaves, you will get it if you persevere and it will feel so good!! 5. and if you absolutely cannot or do not want to make sourdough, go on pinterest and find an easy artisan bread recipe. they usually take water, flour, yeast, and salt that you mix together, let sit on the counter for a few hours, and then bake. fresh bread is still fresh bread and people still love it LTKSeasonal LTKHoliday LTKGiftGuide
