They’re actually indoor chairs that we use outdoors and they’ve held up beautifully for us. The porch is covered and the cushions aren’t exposed to constant moisture, which definitely helps. We have natural gas in our community, which makes them possible. But you can absolutely recreate this look with flickering bulbs too. What are your paint colors? Sherwin-Williams Charleston White + Pediment. What floors are those? TimberTech Coastline — and honestly, they’ve held up incredibly well. We love them. Why don’t you paint the ceiling blue? It actually is a very soft blue, just a few shades under traditional haint blue. We wanted the porch itself to feel calm and layered without the ceiling becoming the main focus. You should add a swing. Trust me… I searched forever for a bed swing narrow enough to fit this porch. One is finally coming. What plants did you use? Our porch actually gets a surprising amount of intense sun throughout the day, which makes it tricky. I’ve learned a mix of plants works best for this space. A few things changing soon around here… decorating for the summer holidays, giving the lanterns a really good clean, swapping the can lights so they disappear into the ceiling more, and finally hanging a bed swing after searching forever for one that would fit this narrow porch.
