Today's work-in-progress is a pile of fabric yo-yos (or Suffolk Puffs) for an epic thrift flip I'm dreaming up!

I've always loved these little gathered fabric circles. They're simple, charming, and remind me of my Granny, who made them too. What starts as a fabric scrap can become a quilt, wreath, garland, ornament, or in my case—a statement detail on a thrifted button-down shirt.

They may be small, but goodness, they take time! So the next time you spot a vintage yo-yo quilt, take a moment to appreciate the hands that stitched every single one.

I've always been fascinated by the beautiful, imperfect nature of watercolor paintings, but for years I was too intimidated to really give it a try. Painting has never come naturally to me.

Recently, I discovered @emilylex watercolor workbooks, and they've been a game changer. The simple guidance has made getting started so much easier—and now I'm hooked!

This summer, watercolor has become my creative escape. Not for the blog. Not for content. Not for work. Just for me.
