Circle, square, triangle. Tall, short, curvy, thin. I’ve seen a lot of chat about how women and young girls now determine whether their own or someone else’s worth is based on their weight or size of their lips, shape of their eyebrows - etc. i realize this is nothing new but as someone who massively suffered from eating disorders and depression - it breaks my heart nonetheless. maybe we all should be concentrating on the person’s/our own values rather than physical attributes or social media numbers or possessions because none of those things constitute being an awesome human being or woman of worth. We constantly talk about how our world seems to be disintegrating but rather than being the positive force we contribute to all that negative energy when we pick apart a person instead of lifting them up or when we sit back and allow someone to be awful to others or even themselves. So what’s my point? I hope all of us circles, squares, triangles, rich, poor, LGBTQ, creatives, academics - you name it - help make this world a better place each day rather than thinking someone else will do the work. Take the time to give someone a compliment, pause and tell yourself ONE GOOD THING you love about YOU, choose to surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you - cut out the toxicity. You deserve it. We all do. Mostly I say all of this as an affirmation to myself on days when my depression is trying to win and I don’t feel adequate - but I hope it reaches you on some level too ♥️ http://liketk.it/2A3XG @liketoknow.it #liketkit #LTKunder100 #LTKunder50
