All my furniture flips broken down by tools and materials needed to try it yourself!

Third times the charm finding a furniture flip COVERED in paint that needs to be stripped 🥲

I was this close 🤏🏻 to walking out of goodwill empty handed only to run into this beautiful three drawer coffee table at the last minute, for only $15 🤯💸

I knew I had some hard work ahead of me as it was slathered in the most basic gray paint, only to realize after stripping it was hiding the most gorgeous wood design 🙈

I asked you on Instagram whether to keep it light or go with a darker stain since I haven’t really done a dark look in a minute ⏰

The darker stain won, so I used a stain I’ve actually used on flips that I’ve kept in my own home which is coffee by Minwax. It was a gel style stain and for some reason it was not wiping off and I FREAKED 😳

I got it removed but the finish was uneven so I re-sanded and went in with the regular oil based stain in the color Dark Walnut, this worked much better 🙏🏻

The end result was a upscale, timeless coffee table that was probably walked by over 100 times, sitting in a corner of goodwill 😥

I say it every time, but transformations like these are why I do what I do! Bringing pieces that are hidden and lost back into their LIGHT 💡

If any fellow DIY lovers know what was up with my staining technique and why I had such a difficult time please share it in the comments 📲

Do you like the final tone of this finish? Let me know and I’ll see you for the next find! 🔎

$1,000 to put some wood up on the wall?! I don’t think so 🙅🏻‍♂️🪵

Comment “FLOATING” and I’ll dm you a link to shop all the products you need for this build 👷🏻

My living room has been close to complete for a while now, however we really wanted some sort of shelving on either side of the fireplace to help finalize the space and make everything cohesive ✨

I initially reached out to a contractor just to get an idea of what the cost would be to have them made and came to realize, it’s A LOT 💰

So I decided it was time to learn a new skill and make them myself 💅🏻

I referenced a lot of other creators who made floating shelves and was so thankful to come across a style from @emilyandlucasdiy 🛠️

The process was extremely simple and way WAY cheaper than what it would have cost me to hire someone. I had a lot of the tools needed on hand so all in my materials were just over $200 for 4 shelves 🪛

I’m absolutely obsessed with the final results and am loving how cozy and full the space feels now 💭

My final cherry on top is finding something to hide the tv box on the left hand side of the wall, any ideas? 💡

If you’ve ever wondered how to actually remove layers of old paint without losing your mind (or your furniture’s details) — this one’s for you. 🎨

Here’s my go-to process ⬇️
1️⃣ Apply a liberal coat of paint stripper — don’t be shy, let it do the heavy lifting.
2️⃣ Spread it evenly with a brush and give it a few minutes to work its magic.
3️⃣ Once it starts bubbling, grab your putty knife and gently scrape away those old layers.
4️⃣ For tricky spots or carved details, I use acetone + an abrasive (steel wool, dish brush, or wire brush) to lift every last bit.
5️⃣ Always lay down plastic first — trust me, your floors will thank you later. 😅

Paint stripping is messy, but so worth it when that beautiful wood starts to shine through again! 🌿

From thrift store eyesore to bar cabinet of dreams 🍷✨

I gave myself a $50 Goodwill challenge and found this bright blue dry sink for $27 — and immediately saw potential. My original plan was to keep the drawers wood and paint the rest… but once I stripped one drawer and saw that gorgeous wood grain, I knew I couldn’t stop there. 🪵

So began the long, messy process — layers of paint stripper, acetone cleanup, sanding every nook and cranny — until that natural beauty came back to life.

Once it was stripped, I gave it new brass hardware, added wine glass holders, and cut out the door panel to inlay plexiglass for a sleek display. Finished it all with a rich dark walnut stain by Minwax, and now it looks completely transformed.

Originally $27 → now listed for $400.
A total glow-up and proof that sometimes the best flips are the ones that take a little extra elbow grease. 💪

👉 What would you have done — stripped it all or kept it painted?

Someone call up Sesame Street because I just found Big Bird on the loose in a GOODWILL 🐥

This $17 coffee table was covered in a thick, glowing yellow paint — but after taking a peek underneath, I realized the entire thing was solid wood 🪵

I spent days (yes, actual days) stripping away those layers of paint. Underneath the yellow was a surprise blue coat, and finally… the most beautiful wood grain waiting to be revealed 🛠️

After cleaning everything up with acetone and sanding it smooth, I decided to preserve that coastal, sun-washed look by applying a light whitewash to tone down the yellow and keep it feeling fresh and airy 🌬️

A final coat of polycrylic sealed it all in, and honestly — this coffee table could pass for something straight out of a Pottery Barn showroom 🛋️

This flip took a lot of elbow grease and patience, but those are always the ones that feel the most rewarding — getting to bring hidden beauty back to life ♻️

👉 Be honest — would you have had the patience to strip all those layers, or would Big Bird still be sitting in your living room? 😅

Sometimes a plan B makes all the difference, especially after I ended up HATING how this flip first came out 😭

I thought my thrift run was going to be a bust, and on my way out I spotted these two small wooden end tables that were calling my name 📲

Bringing them back to the workshop, I filled in the old floral pattern on the door fronts to give me a blank canvas to work with 🖼️

Moving on to the first plan, which was to strip the top and details of the sides down to bare wood and paint the rest of the body 🎨

I got all finished with the light wood paired with the grey tone paint and I knew immediately…we messed up 👹

I took it back to the drawing board and decided to totally change paths and move to a dark and moody set instead 🌚✨

Pairing Minwax Dark Walnut with Dixie Belle Black Sands was the ultimate timeless combo 👯‍♂️

This thrifted Goodwill dresser was such a dream find I had to smack myself just to make sure I wasn’t dreaming 💭

For only $30, I scored this solid wood piece with stunning chevron drawer fronts that I knew I had to save 🪵. After a little TLC — steel wool, acetone, and a lot of patience — I brought those beautiful wood tones back to life and stripped the top to tie it all together.

For the body, I went bold with “Sage the Day” by Valspar. I usually stick to natural tones, but someone recently told me my flips were getting “boring,” so I took that personally 👹

The result? A bright, coastal-inspired dresser that instantly freshened up the space. I listed it on Facebook Marketplace that night and it sold the next morning for $400 💸

I usually lean darker and moodier with my flips, but what do you think about me going lighter and brighter this time? 💡

Breaking news, all the hotties are using olive paint shades 🫒🖌️

All products & tools used for this flip is linked in my bio 🔗💕

This $50 coffee table came to me with a really strong foundation, it was just simply hideous 😷

I spent a hot minute carbide scraping and sanding the top overlay as well as the bottom panel & decided to use the most beautiful olive tone paint on the rest of the body 🍸

Before you come at me saying “omg you didn’t use a primer or top coat you are a disgrace to humanity”, it was an all in one paint girl, chill ☝🏻

I was weary on how I would like the table in the end as the legs were a bit outdated for my liking but with the tone of the wood stain paired with that olive paint I could not be more obsessed 🪵

Let me know what you would pay for this coffee table, and as always I’ll see y’all in the next one 🧡

Sometimes I don’t always flip old furniture. In this case I came across these four wooden rounds and thought to myself…I can make those into end tables 🔨

I’ve always been a fan of sleek & modern, even though I am slowly coming around to more organic design, you can never fully take the west elm/CB2 type design from me ✨

This little DIY transformed my vision into reality, check back soon for the video to see how these little wood rounds turned into elegant end tables perfect for almost any space 🏡

(All the products used for this flip are linked below to try out this dupe yourself! I’ll leave the fun part of finding a piece to try it on up to you! 🔗)

This set came to me in fairly good condition. Structural wise it was sound, style wise…needed a little bit of help 🤏🏻

I searched online to find a chic dupe that I thought I could replicate with this sets foundational style and landed on this $1600 Anthropologie dresser 💸
