Third times the charm finding a furniture flip COVERED in paint that needs to be stripped 🥲 I was this close 🤏🏻 to walking out of goodwill empty handed only to run into this beautiful three drawer coffee table at the last minute, for only $15 🤯💸 I knew I had some hard work ahead of me as it was slathered in the most basic gray paint, only to realize after stripping it was hiding the most gorgeous wood design 🙈 I asked you on Instagram whether to keep it light or go with a darker stain since I haven’t really done a dark look in a minute ⏰ The darker stain won, so I used a stain I’ve actually used on flips that I’ve kept in my own home which is coffee by Minwax. It was a gel style stain and for some reason it was not wiping off and I FREAKED 😳 I got it removed but the finish was uneven so I re-sanded and went in with the regular oil based stain in the color Dark Walnut, this worked much better 🙏🏻 The end result was a upscale, timeless coffee table that was probably walked by over 100 times, sitting in a corner of goodwill 😥 I say it every time, but transformations like these are why I do what I do! Bringing pieces that are hidden and lost back into their LIGHT 💡 If any fellow DIY lovers know what was up with my staining technique and why I had such a difficult time please share it in the comments 📲 Do you like the final tone of this finish? Let me know and I’ll see you for the next find! 🔎 furnitureflip furnituremakeover diy upcycling flipforprofit thriftfind LTKdayinmylife LTKHome LTKvlog
