The candles flicker and the lights are dim... a warm pot of soup simmers on the stove while a fresh loaf of bread gets crusty and crisp in th oven... a wood cutting board awaits with butter just starting to melt on it. Blankets seem to appear from no where and books that have been waiting for our attention find their way to our laps while we sit by the fire. The air gets colder at night while the darkness sets in earlier and earlier, which only draws us further into the warmth of our home. The leaves just begin to hint at what is to come and suddenly we find boots by the door and a plaid lined jacket thrown over the bench by the door... the mornings have a slight chill in the air and the smell of cinnamon rolls wafts throughout the house... home for the cozy season... it’s like a slice of heaven on earth.
