I have never liked our white plastic light switch covers, so I finally started swapping them out room by room with plates that have a little more character. I didn't want brass (I'll explain why another time) but I found some that had a bit of “old home” charm but didn't require painting or any effort to install. They come in white too, but I chose the creamier tone for our house.
