My me time also includes writing in my @fiveminutejournal, too. The daily prompts don’t allow me to get caught up on the bull; I have to focus on the positive while I reflect on the day. I don’t know about you, but I’m just trying to have a peaceful mind, a graceful heart and celebrate the little things. 🥳 The grand opening of the @nordstrom flagship was incredible! From the pre grand opening beauty bash on Broadway, to the branded treats all over the place, to floors and floors of shopping - 320,000 square feet to be exact, it was all fabulous and well done. In addition to retail, there beauty services, eight restaurants and bars plus interactive brand experiences at the store. We kicked off the opening of the store upstairs at Bistro Verde with Erik Nordstrom and @alaskaair Managing Director of Customer Loyalty Ryan Butz. It was perfect: Both companies pride themselves on customer care and it shows. What an honor to be here! Going into the flagship will now be a tradition on my future trips to NYC. You HAAAAVE to check it out if you are in town. The store is south is Central Park, so factor it in to your travel plans. You could literally spend all day in the store and have the time of your life. Happy Tuesday! Its time for a midday story because you know I’ve been trying to be the plant lady. 😂 These warmer temps have been a challenge indoors too, because I don’t want to make the house too cold for my plants (or have the vent blowing on them). You see the plant in the corner? She’s been alive for YEARS and she is my favorite. Technically, she’s not even mine. She was in CJ’s apartment before, made it to our house, and when I moved out, I took it. I had to! This time last year was rough. I was struggling with my purpose in a major way, not feeling like enough, and couldn’t turn a corner. Getting up and “going after it” was wearing on me, and when CJ would leave for work, I would be working from home, but struggling. But! I had a routine. I’d check this lady’s soil, water her if necessary, rub the leaves and talk to the plant, admiring the growth or sharing my intention for the day. I’m happy I’ve kept her alive. I thought she wasn’t going to make it when I moved, but over the past couple of months, she’s really been blooming again. MOTIVATED // I've been taking better care of myself this year than year's past but the biggest stride came yesterday evening. I made an appointment with a personal trainer and I start sessions in August! I’m actually REALLY looking forward to it. In the meantime, I'll keep walking, stretching and using my resistance bands! I have to say, I really love how I look right now and I don't give a sh!t about the number on the scale. Sorry, Spanx. I had the last laugh on this one! Don't get me wrong: I have a couple of pairs and I love creating smooth curves, but there was something very liberating about letting my plush tummy hang where it sits. And strutting. Maybe it's a result of the work I've been doing toward loving myself wholeheartedly. Maybe it's because it was too hot to care. Can we just talk about the fact that I never feel like I look good in athleisure or activewear and I told myself I was rockin' that sh!t last night?! SHINE like the whole universe is yours // Happy New Year’s Eve! It’s time to leave 2018 behind, the good and the bad, and take on a new adventure. 2018 was a transformative year for me. It was fantastic, it was chaotic, it was challenging, and it was successful. I made so many of my dreams come true and I still can’t believe I actually did it. This year pushed me to grow, to let go of things and negative self talk that held me back. It forced me to feel uncomfortable and stare at some things that I had been “too busy” to pay attention to. And, even though the end of the year felt like I was on a rollercoaster, I realize that all of that was SO necessary. It has unlocked so much potential to design a life that I, Kachet, am proud of in 2019. One that supports others in their quest to do the same. One that feels as good as it looks on Instagram. The hustle isn’t stopping, but I’m letting the lofty resolutions and goals go. My plan is to take it one day at a time because that’s when the change happens. Small steps. You, too, can achieve whatever goals you have if you break them down into manageable actions. This can be YOUR YEAR! Here’s to living our best lives and shining as bright as we can in 2019.
