•• The first time I stepped foot in this kitchen, I was in 7th grade. I grew up playing with friends in this exact house.
✨ Flash-forward more than a DECADE - When I got a phone call from my childhood friends’ mother, that was about to change our lives in more ways than we realized.

24 hours later, and 9 months pregnant — we signed the dotted line & started packing 📦 for our new house. Any doubt we had about moving, the Lord squashed when He sold our house at the 9am showing on listing day. #Heaintwastingtime!

•• We were NOT looking to move! ✨ which is the best part because it illustrates the beauty of our Savior: • even when we aren’t looking for Him, He is P U R S U I N G us. ✨

We didn’t realize that with the house, came lots of neighbors with teenage children, and teenage friends. ✨One by one they came into our lives & and we felt the Lord’s nudge to •pursue them• like He pursued us. ✨Today, 10 teenage girls and 10 teenage boys gather around this kitchen island every week to make themselves at home with our pantry & • pursue Jesus• together. Griff and I agree that these kids do more for our faith than I’m sure we do for theirs.♥️

•• I read Jeremiah 29:11 and just laugh. God says, “For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.” ✨The things I talked about in this kitchen 10 years ago with my friends, are the things we talk about with these kids. The temptations of high school, the mean girls, science, pressure of athletics, parent struggles, popularity, plans on prom night.
God started writing this •story of pursuit• when I was 13 years old, knowing full well what would be taking place in this house 15 years later.

Sure, it’s fun to do house projects & pick out pretty counter tops and dishes. But I remind myself daily, that we’re just playing house in a temporary home that isn’t ours.
Ev-er-y-thing we have is because of Gods grace & everything we do with it, I pray brings Him glory. #glorytoglory

✨r e s t ✨ after a hectic weekend — with daddy away on a boys trip & my usual over-filled schedule of activities, play dates, friend catch-ups & church (I’ve told you before, I loathe boredom) — I said “no” to any plans on Sunday and took the good Lord’s advice to simply rest.
•• Man did He know that by the seventh day of the week R E S T is exactly what our hearts & souls would long for. •• Elle Rose went down for her nap & Spencer William scooted his stool over to the Kitchen Aid all by himself and said “mommy, we should make cookies for da Bible study grills!!” ♥️😭 (the Holy Spirit even speaks through our children, y’all! 🙌🏼) #mykindofrest
•• My spirit was worn out from the hustle of the 6 days leading up to Sunday. But when SWD wanted to do something •together• for the precious high school “grills” who come over every week, i felt my spirit instantly renewing. ♥️ “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me... and you will find R E S T for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” [matt 11:28-30]
✨this kitchen is full of dirty dishes and random baby bottle parts (always 🙃), but what you can’t see is that it’s also full of the Holy Spirit restoring my energy & breathing Love into my baby. ✨ We whipped out the butter, cranked up some @laurendaigle tunes and had ourselves the sweetest Sunday afternoon. 🍪

People message me daily asking “is the @dockatot worth it?!” My answer is always heck to the yes!! #sleepispriceless. 🙌🏼 I forgot it when traveling to Nashville this week, and she had to sleep in our @uppababy stroller bassinet on the floor. When i woke up each morning, after a solid 10-12 hours of sleep, i realized while we’ve been snoozing the past two months, the Dock A Tot has been doing sleep training for us! (We’re still using it, because it’s the coziest little thing!!) but I’d say having a newborn that’s already trained to sleep through the night is SO freaking worth it! #wortheverypenny 👉🏻 they now sell them at Target!
