THIS BOOK WRECKED ME…Do you ever go through phases of the types of books you want to read?! Right now, I’m in a “I want this book to mean something” phase and this book certainly meant something! It will be one that sticks with me! It’s no surprise that author @barbara.kingsolver just won the Pulitzer Prize for this novel! ✨ Powerful storytelling of a young boy born into poverty to a single {addicted} mom in the mountains of Appalachia… the hurdles he goes through simply to survive! This novel will break your heart, make you cry, make you want to change the world, scream at the character and say NO!! NO!! What are you doing?! I’ve never rooted more for a character! This story shows how community {or lack of} can impact a person’s life. I listened to this one and can’t imagine not hearing Deamon’s voice and convincing accent. This book is heavy, rated R (lots of vulgar language, death, drug use, child neglect) but I loved this book- and will continue to keep me thinking about it!! #LTKunder50 #LTKFind
