We did a refresh of our powder bathroom last year and I’m really happy with how it turned out! I was nervous about the darker stone, but I’m loving the contrast. It also reminds me of the grey granite cliffs in northern MN- where we are originally from!

It’s far from finished- we are going to build new nightstands and paint/add board and batten once the weather warms up (it’s in the basement and there is no ventilation...makes painting hard when it’s -15F and you can’t open windows 🤪), but I’m loving the progress!

Nothing has changed in this little office nook- except for this plant- which is growing like crazy! I’m sharing this space again because it is the only clean area in our house right now. 😂

I do, however, have plans for a guest bedroom refresh. We’ll be painting, adding some board and batten, building nightstands, and attempting a DIY upholstered headboard! We’ve never done upholstery before so I’m a little nervous, but the tutorial by @angelarosehome looks super doable and we can’t wait to try! I already have the light fixtures and new duvet on order so I’ll post those to my stories when I receive them. I’ve never shared our guest room before because I’ve never considered it finished, so I’m excited to get started on this project. What room in your home would you love to update??

I'm baaaaaack!! Well, at least for one post! I'm really missing IG, you guys, and I have so much new stuff to share with you! For now, here’s a very “cleaned up” version of our living room- sans baby stuff and toys. ☺️ We’re still loving our Timber sofa and Sven chair from @article. They are still looking great almost a year later and have actually been really resistant to staining (way more so than our old fabric sofa). 👍🏻

Hey guys! It’s been awhile- but I’m still here! I took a very much needed break from IG the past few weeks. It was sort of out of necessity, as I really don’t have any spare time right now or any projects in the works, but it was also good to reassess the amount of time I was spending on this platform. I was trying to engage with and keep up with hundreds of accounts every day, and one can only do that for so long. So, I’m going to strictly limit my time going forward. I might not be able to keep up with everyone every day, but will do my best to stay connected! A big thank you to all of you for still following along! 🤗❤️

Although home projects have been put on hold while my husband has been away, we are planning on redoing my son’s room later this summer, so stay tuned for that!

I haven’t shared this view of our master bathroom before because I’ve been waiting until I find a vintage inspired rug to put in front of the vanity. However, it might be awhile and I’m running low on photos, so here you go! 🤪 If you know of a rug with red tones and a vintage feel less than $50 please let me know! I just can’t justify spending over $100 for a 2x3 rug that will likely get destroyed by kids or cats. 😂

I haven’t had much time to devote to IG while I’ve been solo parenting, but wanted to let you all know I’m still here! 👋 This is an older shot of my half of our office. I had laptops ever since college, but got this desktop last year and like it SO much better!

On another note, I recently learned you can grow more than just apples here in Minnesota! How am I just finding this out now?! 🤯 We are planning on planting a mini orchard this weekend with two apple trees, two plum trees, a peach tree, and maybe two pears or an apricot. I’m so excited! 🙌

Our new chairs finally arrived and I’m in LOVE! The wood frames really make this space feel so much more open. I have a confession to make- I feel like I am always having this internal struggle with my design style. When shopping for decor or furniture, I always gravitate towards neutral colors, simplicity, and clean lines. Always. So, I have all of this minimal, modern decor (which I do love) but am bothered by the fact it doesn’t feel ‘cozy’ like say Pottery Barn, for instance. If I step back from individual pieces, I’d say cozy is more of what I’m striving for, but it’s like I’d have to look at a photo and copy it exactly, or I’ll just buy more of the same. 😂 Can anyone else relate or am I just crazy?? 😜

Is anyone else in a busy season of life right now? My husband has been working long hours for the past 3 weeks (and will continue for another 2 months 😳), I haven’t been feeling well and my son was sick earlier this week. It’s taking all of my energy just to keep us fed, my toddler entertained, and our home from turning into a disaster area. To all of you single parents out there- you are ROCKSTARS 🙌.

There are two identical sets of shelves in our office. I love how the other side is styled, but I struggle with this side. Does anyone else have this issue?? I have the same problem with the cabinets on either side of our fireplace. 😩 I think I’m finally happy with this arrangement though, thanks to this basket I found at the Target dollar spot and this cute little wood garland I ordered from Ashley @modernly_you!

I was really looking forward to 60’s this weekend, but it wound up being pretty rainy and gloomy. We did eat lunch out on the deck today though and my son was soooooo excited! Unfortunately, we are supposed to get a bunch of accumulating snow later this week. 👎🏻 I can’t wait for May- it’s my favorite month because it’s usually sunny, dry, low 70s, and not many bugs! I hope you all had a great weekend! We did a lot of outdoor projects this weekend. Our muddy driveway finally dried out so we drug that to get rid of the ruts and pressure washed the deck. Now it just needs to warm up!

Here’s the spray painting project we’ve been working on the last few days! This is an old Target console that we painted white (it was dark wood). It might still need a few more coats because it looks a little gray to me, but overall I’m really happy with how it turned out. I also broke down and painted this brass mirror black- I couldn’t resist! I feel like this little corner is so much more “me” now!
