All 5 senses will be dialed in on vacation in a top-notch rental. You will see beautiful decor, touch soft and luxury linens, bath robes, and blankets, you will hear the sound of the waves , the birds, or even the quiet all around you, and you will smell the most light, refreshing, and cozy smells. That last one is one of the most powerful memory makers. You may forget the exact pattern of that pillow or quilt you loved, but you won't forget how that smell made you feel!

You will find these smells (and a lot of other great ones) in our bathrooms, and other cozy places in our rentals.

I just wanna say I have spent the last 14 years worrying about dinner. What am I gonna cook for dinner, what will the kids eat, what will my husband and the kids eat, it’s gotta be fresh ingredients it’s gotta be a new recipe it’s gotta be a new idea and it’s gotta be complicated. But you know what, I wish someone would’ve told me that I’d be standing here today knowing that when I serve them Beyond burgers and frozen sweet potato fries from the air fryer they are just as happy. Should we cook a home-cooked meal regularly yes, but in today’s world with families running with very little support, that’s just not realistic. Give yourself a break, serve the chicken nuggets and strawberries when you need to and keep it moving

If we are being honest, I would rather be repotting my plants to make my porch spring ready then filing my business renewal filings with the North Carolina Secretary of State. So I’m going to repot today and be stressed out next week when I’m doing it the day before it’s due. Carpe diem!

First installation of this project was a success, from design to delivery! Even though 1 chair had a minor issue, we swiftly swapped it out and kept it moving - a happy client makes a happy designer 🤍 A rug and new lighting will finish off this space as we press on!

A complete design of a cozy, daily-use family dining room! We know the heart of the home is the kitchen, so anytime we can create a space where family will linger in that heart is a win! A sofa for the kids to relax and have a snack, do homework, and even play cards has been the most favorite part about this design for the family. The rolling chairs have been comfortable and convenient. The Roman shades, wallpaper and painted trim soften the space and the sconce lighting brings the mood!

PRO TIP: many showrooms are taking down Christmas and trying to move their floor model furniture out of the store to bring in fresh and new pieces for the NEW YEAR. Shop around at your local show rooms and ask if they’re selling any of their floor models. You can get a deep discount on a like new sofa!

This girl right here was just that! I sent him in to grab a fabric sample for a client and he left with a floor model sofa - LOVE it when THEY are the ones that get caught up!!

We are never (never say never) going to choose a TV over a fireplace as a first option in a design. So many reasons. However, sometimes you just can’t avoid it. The layout, the wall space, windows, walkways… these all determine where a TV can go. Sometimes you have a partner that refuses to let you put it anywhere else. 👀 So insert an art TV. It’s a little high to the eye, it’s a little mix of art and TV, but we are at least avoiding a big black hole in the design of the space.

We installed one of these smart loo+bidets in a recent luxury bathroom renovation design, and we couldn’t be more impressed by the intelligence of this loo! The owners were hesitant about spending about 2 to 3 times the cost of a regular toilet, but they reported back that it has proved its value x 10. They most appreciate the convenience and cleanliness the automations provide, and personal cleanliness from the bidet! It has been life-changing for them.

We will be adding this loo to the list of recommendations for future designs for sure!

This bathroom renovation revolved around the vanities. The size, the color, the wood, the quality. The client wanted a vanity that felt like a piece of furniture, with legs and space underneath, and that warmed up the bathroom that was going to be cold feeling from the black/white checkered marble floors and white shower tile. This was the perfect piece!
