In my never-ending quest to perfect my family’s packing system, I dove deep into the world of checked suitcases, and quickly realized that most of the advice online was missing real, practical tips.

That’s why I recently updated and created two new blog posts on the topic, breaking down the MAJOR differences between medium and large checked bags.

The number 1 thing to keep in mind when choosing checked luggage is weight. The heavier your suitcase, the less you can pack before hitting the airline’s baggage allowance (usually 50 lbs).

On average, most checked bags weigh around 10 lbs empty. So when I stumbled upon this IT Luggage 31” spinner at just 7.7 lbs, I knew it had to be one of the lightest large checked suitcases on the market, it gives you maximum packing space without cutting into your allowance.
