Candles can be a HUGE pollutant in your home, but if you know what to look for you can make cleaner choices that can help your health and air quality! The candle industry is unregulated so you’ll need a keen eye when reading the ingredients. Here’s everything you need to know! Look for: 1) 100% beeswax, coconut, or soy wax. If it doesn’t say 100% then assume it has petroleum based paraffin wax which is key to avoid. 2) look for unbleached cotton, wood, or hemp wicks. Many wicks have a metal core that when burned disperse metals into the air. 3) only use natural fragrances! If it simply says “fragrance” ditch it! You’re looking for unscented or 100% essential oil based fragrance. I’ve linked a bunch of wonderful options that fulfill all these requirements! LTKfamily LTKhome LTKSeasonal
