While I am mixed, it is very clear that I’m Mexican and my brown skin has subjected me to slurs , insults and people thinking that I can’t speak English.
Growing up , I disliked the color of my skin, hair and eyes. To the point where I refused to go outside because I didn’t want to get any darker.
Society, through its many medians, made me think I was ugly, undesirable and not welcomed.
Today, I absolutely love my brown skin, the culture , learning the language and breaking those stereotypes.
One way I’m doing that is through content creating, I love showing that we can also be princesses and enjoy “soft” things.
Offline , I pursued higher education and obtained my masters degree and now work in corporate America- which some deem as a trap but I know so many people who wanted this for us 🩷I could go on and on but for now I’ll leave with this
