Finding quiet time with many little people running around has been a challenge lately. With lots of transitions happening back to back, I haven’t been able to focus my mind on anything other than what needs to be marked off of the to do list. If you’re a parent of small children, than you know the to do list doesn’t stop. In result, I’ve missed out on quite a bit of one on one time with my Heavenly Father. Which, in turn has left me feeling empty, restless and uneasy. There’s been a longing to be in His presence and bask in His warm, loving arms.

Last night, in the midst of an unsettled moment, I was compelled by the Holy Spirit to pick up this 30 day Bible study that has been sitting in my reading basket for months, untouched. As I read through the introduction, I knew immediately that the Lord was speaking to me. I could relate to the author’s life as a busy stay at home mom, homeschooling multiple children. I often make the comparison of my life to Martha (Mary’s sister) as did the author of this Bible study.

Martha was busy serving while Mary sat at the feet of Jesus and listening to His teaching. When Martha complained to Jesus about not receiving help from her sister, Mary, Jesus responded, (Luke 10:41-42) “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. “But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” This passage gets me every single time. I’ve been Distracted by so many things around me that I haven’t taken the time (daily) to sit at the feet of Jesus. This was my sign to start.

As I started Day 1 of this Bible study, it all made sense. Not only was the Lord compelling me to spend quality time in His presence, He had a message for me that would speak directly to what I am experiencing. Psalm 37 is the reassurance I need in this season of my life. I look forward to this 30 day in-depth journey into Psalm 37.

If you are a busy mom like me, I encourage you to take some time to sit in the Lord’s presence (daily). Join me on this journey to simply still and listen. 🙏🏽
