Welp, not how I expected to wrap up my time at Texas Tech. Thought I would be walking across that stage in May to receive my bachelors and masters degree in environmental engineering and sadly it was cancelled. My heart hurts + my future is unclear. But one thing that is clear is how THANKFUL I am for the amazing 5 years I’ve had: the relationships I’ve made, the lessons I’ve learned, the knowledge I’ve gained, the margaritas I’ve consumed, the legacy I’ve left and the confident, determined woman I’ve become. Thank you Texas Tech University & thank you little ole Lubbock for letting me grow and watering me with your love. I’m one lucky girl. ☁️✨

At the end of last year, I thought to myself: I want to do all the things I love. I want to allow myself the chance. Give myself the opportunity. I want to live and take risks. I want to say one day “I did it” or “I tried”, not “I wonder what could have been...”. I want to put emphasis on myself and do the things I’ve been putting off like starting a blog, getting back into yoga, baking my heart out & traveling the world.

Although 2019 was one of the hardest years of my life, it was also one of the best. The hard days that came and went, made the good days so much sweeter. I’m thankful for 2019 and the woman I became & continue to become. I appreciate myself for doing what I set out to do: to liberate.

At the end of last year, most all of us set out goals that we may or may not have followed through with. But no matter if you did what you set out to do or you didn’t, be sure to thank yourself. Thank yourself for being introspective and thoughtful enough to WANT to make changes in your life. Thank yourself for getting through another year. Thank yourself for the person you are today and the person you’ll be in the next decade.
