Paper clutter isn’t just annoying… it’s distracting and piles up fast.

Here’s the system I use to stay on top of it without organizing every day:

📥 1. SCAN:
I use a scanner like ScanSnap that connects straight to Google Drive, Dropbox, or Box
It sends everything to my digital filing system automatically so I don’t need a physical file cabinet taking up space

📁 2. SAVE + FILE:
From there, it either gets sorted into digital folders
Or I drop important things (like kid memories or medical stuff) into a their own memory box

🗑️ 3. SHRED:
Once it’s saved and handled, it goes straight to the shred pile, especially anything with personal info
I do a cross-shred once a week, and done

You can batch this in one sitting or break it up
Sometimes I do it all in 20 mins - scan, pay, update the family calendar (we use a @myskylight calendar so everyone sees what’s coming)
Other times I chip away at it over the week

Either way there are no mystery piles of paper floating around the house anymore

She’s washable. Because I’m not scrubbing a rug or hauling a rug cleaner.

Go vertical
Add a shelf above the washer and dryer (they have them for single and side by side setups)

Now the socks get folded in the laundry room
Not on your couch
Not on your bed

Just unbox, drop them down, and park the chaos.

Now the kids know exactly where to put their wheels and I don’t need a “bike pile” in the corner ever again.

One heads-up: as with anything kid-gear-related, measure your scooter and bike wheels first.

It grabs the dust and leaves behind a slight anti-static layer that actually repels more from sticking.

That means less buildup and less dusting — for at least a week or two, depending on the spot.

I use it on:
– Baseboards (quick swipe and done)
– Air vents (especially if they get that gray grime buildup)
– Bonus: If the vent’s already gross, use a crevice brush or toothbrush to loosen the dirt first, then go over it with the dryer sheet for the long-lasting dust shield.
