You know who really impressed me with their new arrivals? TORRID (sizes 10-30)! It’s the first time in a long time that I found myself adding multiple pieces to my cart. They’ve gotten a lot of criticism over the past couple of years about having an identity crisis, not adapting to current trends and aging customers, and not welcoming in new customers. And while you can definitely sense the identity crisis on the site, it’s also clear that Torrid is trying a lot of different things to see what works. They seem to have a collection for every aesthetic right now: dark romance for their classic customers, feminine boho, trendy western, vintage pinup, super cute active wear, and on-trend basics and denim. I see one of two different strategies at play here: they’re either testing different aesthetics to see which resonate, or they’re trying to provide a little of everything to meet a broad range of customers. Either way, this is evidence to meet that they’re listening and adapting. LTKMidsize LTKPlusSize LTKootd
