On every vacation, we book a special dinner out, and I always like to pick up a new dress for the occasion. On this trip, we booked a garden luau. When I spotted this Geometric Leaf Print Long Sleeve Pocket Dress , I knew it’d be perfect with the dreamy greens and blues and oversize palm leaf print. What I especially like about the dress is that it’s tropical but a bit more subdued for wear beyond vacation.

Williams Sonoma Famille Rose Dinnerware

A few years back, I was shopping at my local Williams Sonoma and spotted a dinnerware display featuring their whimsical Famille Rose collection. It was love at first sight! If you’ve been following my blog for awhile, then it’ll be no surprise to you why I love this colorful pastel collection. The platters and plates are painted in soft pinks, blues, and greens and adorned with sprawling flowers and colorful birds. This dinnerware collection looks straight of out the palace of Versailles, or at least from the set of Bridgerton.

The designs may be fanciful and delicate, but this collection is dishwasher and microwave safe for everyday use. And I do use mine everyday. I started my collection two years ago with a set of pink and green dinner plates. Last year I added the blue salad plates to my collection. And this year I’m eyeing the pasta bowls and canister set for our kitchen counter. This Williams Sonoma Famille Rose Dinnerware collection sets an especially beautiful spring table, but I use my plates year-round.

Romanticizing the winter season with a haul of goodies I ordered myself from @riflepaperco after Christmas:

1️⃣A box of beautiful cards to write thank you notes for Christmas. Thank yous for gifts, thank yous for invitations to gatherings, and thank yous for festive outings and wonderful memories together. Writing thank yous requires me to stop and sit with my gratitude instead of my anxiety.

2️⃣A new weekly desk planner for keeping on top of work, chores, and hobby projects. Keeping myself organized keeps me centered, motivated, and productive (which can be difficult as the seasonal depression bears down).

3️⃣A new notebook for tackling to-do lists, sketching out my dreams for our garden, and journaling in the mornings. It gives me a space to be reflective and creative while making room for new dreams and ideas.

4️⃣A new book for my book stack. In this case, revising a favorite story for childhood to reread as an adult. My grandmother and I would listen to Anne of Green Gables on cassette and then watch the 1985 version on VHS together. The character of Anne was a role model to me as a child. The story makes me nostalgic and sentimental for my childhood and grandparents. And I’m excited to revisit this world and these memories.

If the winter blues are getting you down, there are so many little comfort rituals you can turn to. Writing letters can help you feel appreciative and connected. Journaling can help you unpack your feelings. A planner can help you get organized and clear up some of that mental clutter and anxiety. And a new book can offer a whole host of remedies: escapism, adventure, good company, possibility…

Lightweight Spring Trench Coat

I’m wearing this fabulous Contemporary Trench Coat (sizes 12/14-32/34; $159.95) from Ulla Popken in the size 16/18. It runs true to size with a slightly relaxed fit and plenty of stretch to the water repellent fabric. It comes in four spring shades: ivory, tan, black, and this blush pink.
