BASEBALL SNACK TRAY! ⚾️ Baseball season is wrapping up and games are getting even more exciting! I love making quick little (or big 😅) snack boards that make ordinary evenings a special event. My favorite wooden tray by Hearth and Hand at Target has come in handy so many times. It's the perfect size and shape for a fun family snack board for any occasion. For our baseball snack board, I added two varieties of potato chips, cracker jacks, corn dogs, sunflower seeds, peanuts, soft pretzels, and ketchup and mustard for dipping. I also sprinkled some wrapped bubble gum on top to make it even more festive. Honestly though, how fun?! Just like you're at the ballfield, but in the comfort of your home. What I got Roo for her FOURTH BIRTHDAY! 🎉 I focused on collaborative, imaginative, creative, and outdoor play when picking her gifts! 1. She’s going to love the Don’t Spill the Beans game and Jimmy and I can’t wait to play it with her. 2. The Melissa and Doug pizza toy is perfect for imaginative play and we already have a place to store it with her other play food! 👏🏼 3. I checked off creative play with the next size up in our favorite art smock and a new set of dot markers. She requested a pink one! 4. CUTTING BOX! ✂️ Give your child some freedom with cutting, but in a super controlled way! I threw some scraps in a bin, modeled proper scissor use, reviewed expectations and rules, and let Roo go to town cutting until her heart was content. This was Roo’s first experience with scissors. I researched and found this pair of @fiskars training scissors on Amazon and couldn’t be more impressed! They have a lever that helps little ones get the feeling of the cutting motion. Roo went back to this activity throughout the day and spent a total of 2.5 HOURS cutting. Cross my heart…this activity set a new record in our house! Watching her confidence build with this new tool was so fun to see! And she had an absolute blast feeling like such a big kid. TEACHER HACK: Put a sticker on your child’s upward facing thumb as a visual reminder of a proper scissors grip! DISCLAIMER: This activity should be supervised at all times.
