Yes, I’m wearing jeans for an evening out—and this is exactly how I make them feel dressed up.

Want the links? Like, Follow & Comment and I’ll send links right to your DM.

My version of evening style doesn't have to mean a dress or an outfit I'll only wear once. A dark wash trouser jean gives me the ease of denim, while a chocolate brown satin tank, short-sleeve leather jacket, suede pointed-toe heels and a mix of rich brown textures make the whole outfit feel polished.

At 56 and 6'1", I want timeless, classic style that works for my real life—and pieces I can wear more than one way. This is exactly the kind of elevated jeans outfit I reach for when I want to look put together for dinner, drinks or an evening out without feeling overdressed.

Would you wear jeans for an evening out—or are you still reaching for trousers or a dress? Tell me below.

And save this one for the next time you're standing in your closet thinking, “Can I really wear jeans?” Send it to the friend who's always looking for an easy dinner outfit, too.

A brown cashmere cardigan and dark wash wide-leg jeans could have stopped at “nice.” The leopard belt and flats are what make the outfit feel like me.

And that’s one of my favorite ways to wear cashmere for fall: start with the timeless piece, then add ONE thing that gives the outfit some personality.

At 56 and 6'1", I’m much more interested in building a wardrobe around pieces I’ll actually wear repeatedly than chasing something new every week. A cashmere cardigan earns its place because I can wear it buttoned as a sweater, open as a layer, dressed up with trousers or casually with jeans.

This week we’re talking all things cashmere: what’s worth considering, how I’m wearing it, and the sweaters that can actually become wardrobe workhorses.

Would you wear the leopard belt AND flats together, or choose just one?

SAVE this outfit for fall inspiration, SHARE it with your cashmere-loving friend, and FOLLOW for classic style, tall-friendly finds and clothes worth wearing on repeat.

For Pinterest Inspired Outfit #33, I recreated a polished fall outfit with a cream tank, brown cashmere cardigan, black trousers and black woven suede flats.

What makes this neutral fall outfit work? Contrast, texture and proportion. The cream brightens the brown cashmere, the black trousers give the outfit a long clean line, and the woven suede flats add just enough texture to keep all those classic basics from feeling predictable.

At 56 and 6'1", this is exactly the kind of outfit formula I come back to: classic, comfortable, polished and easy to actually wear.

Save this one for the next time you're standing in your closet thinking your basics need “something.” You may not need another piece at all.

And send it to a friend who would wear this exact outfit.

Would you recreate this one as-is, or change one piece?

At 56, I don't want pink to feel precious. I want it to look like this.

Want the links sent to you? Comment PINK and I’ll DM them!

Soft pink cashmere layered over a crisp white oxford, brown pinstripe wide-leg trousers, pointed-toe suede heels and a structured suede bag. The menswear-inspired trousers and rich chocolate brown keep the pink from feeling overly sweet — and make this one of those polished fall outfits I could wear again and again.

And at 6'1", trousers are always part of the equation for me. These have the long, fluid silhouette I look for, and pairing them with a crewneck cashmere sweater makes the whole outfit feel elevated without being complicated.

This is exactly what I mean when I talk about building a fall wardrobe around pieces that work together: a great cashmere sweater, a white button-down, trousers and brown accessories. Nothing complicated. It's the combination that makes it interesting.

Would you wear pink with brown? Tell me below — because I think this color combination deserves a lot more attention this fall.

Save this one for your fall outfit ideas, and send it to someone who would wear this combination too.

At 56 and 6'1", I know what I like—but that doesn't mean I want to dress exactly the same way every day.

Some days it's wide-leg jeans, sneakers and a great jacket. Other days I want polished trousers and a beautiful blouse. And sometimes? Bring on the dress, heels and somewhere worth getting dressed up for.

That's what I loved about putting these Macy’s looks together: one place, completely different sides of my personal style. From casual fall outfits and elevated everyday style to event and evening dressing, these are clothes for the way I actually want to dress now.

And I'm curious about YOU: Are you mostly EVERYDAY, ELEVATED or EVENT?
Tell me below—and if there's a look you want details on, tell me which one. Save this for fall outfit inspiration and send it to the friend whose closet also has multiple personalities.

I'll have the looks linked in Stories so you can shop your favorites.

Tall women know why the length of these jeans stopped me in my tracks.

Want the links? Like, Follow & Comment and I’ll send links right to your DM.

I’m 6'1", and finding tall wide-leg jeans that are actually long enough is not something I take for granted. These have the length, the full wide-leg silhouette and the proportions I want — and yes, they’re even long on me.

For this easy fall outfit, I paired the medium-wash wide-leg jeans with an olive green cardigan and brown suede block-heel Mary Janes. It’s the kind of timeless, classic everyday style I wear constantly: simple pieces, rich fall color and just enough interest without making the outfit complicated.

And can we talk about this GREEN? Brown, burgundy and chocolate are everywhere for fall, but this olive/mossy green deserves some attention too.

Tall friends: what’s harder for you to find — jeans that are long enough or sleeves that are long enough?

Save this for an easy fall jeans outfit, send it to a tall friend who is forever searching for longer inseams, and follow for more tall women’s fashion, classic style for women over 40 and wearable everyday outfit ideas.

At 56 and 6'1", I've learned not to judge a piece solely by the outfit I happen to grab in the store. Sometimes the top isn't quite right. Sometimes the proportions need adjusting. And sometimes one piece that seems just okay becomes VERY good once I get it home and style it with my own wardrobe.

This fall try-on included wide-leg trousers, pull-on pants, fall dresses, striped sweaters, cardigans and denim — but pay attention to the pieces that show up again near the end.
Those are the ones I brought home and restyled with cashmere and pieces already in my closet.

And THAT is the test for me: can I immediately see at least a few ways to wear it with what I already own?

At 56 and 6'1", I've learned not to judge a piece solely by the outfit I happen to grab in the store. Sometimes the top isn't quite right. Sometimes the proportions need adjusting. And sometimes one piece that seems just okay becomes VERY good once I get it home and style it with my own wardrobe.

This fall try-on included wide-leg trousers, pull-on pants, fall dresses, striped sweaters, cardigans and denim — but pay attention to the pieces that show up again near the end.
