Most consoles don’t look styled… they look like random décor placed on a surface.

And usually, it’s not because you chose the wrong pieces — it’s because they’re not working together visually.

Here’s the styling principle designers use to instantly make a console feel balanced and intentional: the triangle rule.

Instead of placing items at the same height or spacing everything evenly, create visual movement by forming a triangle between your objects. This allows the eye to travel naturally across the styling instead of stopping in one place.

In this example:
• The artwork creates the main visual anchor and height
• The tall vase builds the second point and adds softness and texture
• The candleholders ground the arrangement and introduce repetition
• The ottoman below completes the composition by visually connecting the styling to the floor

When heights, scale, and grouping are thoughtfully layered like this, the console feels styled instead of cluttered or unfinished.

This is one of the easiest ways to elevate a space without buying more décor — it’s about placement, proportion, and composition.

As designers, we’re always thinking about how each piece relates to another so the space feels cohesive and finished rather than randomly decorated.

Bored with your space? Then it’s time to make it interesting 🤍

This is virtual interior design, without the second-guessing, just an easier way to design your home.

We help you move forward with clear decisions, confident choices, and a process designed to eliminate costly mistakes before they happen. The result is a home that feels finished—without the stress of figuring it out alone.

As a New York–based boutique design atelier, we work virtually to create spaces that balance beauty and real life. No budget minimum. No overwhelm. Just intentional design, done once—and done right.

Hanging Art Above A Sofa: Save this golden rule for later!

Most people think their wall feels empty because they haven’t found the right art yet.
But that’s not the reason.
Here’s what’s really happening:
The art is disconnected from the furniture below it.
Here’s what most people miss:
hanging art too high and too small above the sofa.
When artwork floats too far above the couch—or doesn’t relate to its width—the space feels unfinished and off-balance. Even beautiful art can feel awkward when the proportions are wrong.

The result?
A living room that looks styled… but never fully pulled together.

The fix?
Think in proportion, not guesswork.
Hang art 6–8 inches above the sofa.

Aim for artwork that spans about two-thirds of the sofa’s width.
If you’re grouping pieces, keep them 2–3 inches apart so they read as one composition.
When art and furniture relate to each other, the entire room instantly feels grounded and intentional.
If you’re not sure whether your space needs simple styling tweaks or a full design plan, comment STYLE and I’ll reach out to you to talk about your project.
Let’s talk about one of the most common dresser styling mistakes: leaving it plain… and then overcorrecting by cluttering it.

A bare dresser can feel unfinished and forgettable, like something is missing. But when we try to “fix” that by adding too much—random decor, stacked items, products with no home—the surface quickly becomes cluttered. Instead of feeling elevated, the dresser starts to feel chaotic and impractical, especially for your nighttime routine.

The fix?
Intentional styling with space to breathe.
Start with what you actually use at night.
Then add just a few pieces:
* A soft lamp
* A tray for essentials
* A book you’re currently reading or a journal
* One or two meaningful accents
This balance is what turns a dresser from nice to iconic.

What I’d actually choose from Target as a designer and why these fall décor finds make all the difference:

•Moody wall art: adds depth and sets the seasonal tone.
•Glass pumpkins: chic, timeless, and glow beautifully with light.
•Fall candles (amber, cedar, sandalwood): scents set the mood and transform the atmosphere.
•Cozy throws & pillows: quick swaps that add warmth, texture, and comfort.
•Marble trays, ribbed glassware & decorative objects: elevate hosting and create that curated, designer look.

Did you like the pumpkin?

So many women I’ve talked to lately have said “I have a gray couch…” almost like it’s a bad thing.
But here’s the truth there’s no such thing as a bad piece of furniture.

A gray sofa isn’t outdated or boring, it just needs the right styling to shine. Layer it with cozy textures, warm tones, contrast pillows, and a few thoughtful accents, and suddenly it feels fresh, elevated, and completely new.

This design board from my curated collection is proof: your existing pieces can have a second life. You don’t always need to start over, sometimes all it takes is a fresh perspective.

If you’ve got a piece at home you think is “dated,” try giving it a new look before saying goodbye. You might love it again.

She ends her day here, in a bedroom designed through virtual interior design to feel calm and collected. The canopy bed brings structure and comfort, while soft linens and pillows make it easy to let go of the day.

Before bed, she often stops by the credenza to switch on the lamp, adjust the flowers she picked up earlier that week, or glance at a favorite photo she keeps nearby. It’s her little moment of connection before winding down.

Some nights she sits on the curved teal sofa with a notebook or book, enjoying a few quiet minutes for herself. The artwork above her bed reminds her to pause and breathe—a detail carefully chosen through online interior design services to match her lifestyle.

This space is for someone who values peace, order, and beauty without excess.
My designs always carry three elements: a style, an influence, and a feeling.
This one is Organic Modern with a European influence, wrapped in the mood of fall nostalgia.
Now live on my LTK.
Welcome to the recipe for the perfect bedroom.

The room I hold dearest is my bedroom, a personal retreat where I unwind after a hectic day. Here, nestled with a book or enveloped in music, accompanied by a soothing cup of tea, I slip away into the realm of dreams.

I’m definitely loving the new Studio McGee Target spring collection! These pieces are such a fun way to refresh your space for the season.

Look for bowls, vases, pillows, trees, ottomans, and wall art.

Just a heads-up, I’d skip the faux florals—they don’t look great.

All the links are in my LTK shop (link in bio), or drop “Target Spring” in the comments and I’ll send them your way!
