If I’m being completely honest, I’ve never loved the layout of our living room. From the front entry, it always feels like you’re walking straight into the back of the sofa, and the flow just seems a little off.

So... we’re getting ready to start our newest home renovation! We’re moving the fireplace and adding more windows to the living room to bring in more natural light. Our home just doesn’t get a ton of it. In the summer we get maybe two or three hours of really good sunlight, and I’ve always wanted more.

If you’ve been following along for a while, you know I’ve tackled most of the projects in this house, including two major bathroom renovations. But for this one, I’m hiring someone I know and trust. As much as I’d love to take it on myself, I move a little slower, and this project would disrupt our family's dayto day life for much longer than I'd like.

As for the decor and furniture, I plan on keeping almost everything. I truly love the pieces in our home, and I've always believed in choosing quality over quantity. I'd much rather invest in timeless pieces that I know I'll love for years than constantly replace furniture with every project.

The only piece that won't work with the new layout is our oversized sectional. We use it more like a sofa, but with the fireplace moving, it just won't fit the space the way we need it to.

These light wood storage cabinets have been such a great addition to my office. They add so much extra storage and give us a place to tuck away our computer when it’s not in use.

This oversized coffee table is one of my favorite pieces. It’s perfect for everyday life but also doubles as the gathering spot for family game nights.

This wool area rug is probably my favorite rug in our home. It has held up so well in a high-traffic space and is surprisingly easy to spot clean.

Both of these lamps are so beautiful. They’re oversized, make a statement, and the quality is incredible.

I also love this textured art piece so much that I own it in multiple color variations.

And lastly, this soft -edge white oak dresser. It’s one of my favorite furniture pieces in our home, it has such a timeless design and so much storage!

Answering some of the questions I get asked most often about our primary bathroom!

Where is the flooring from?
The flooring is from @boardwalk_hardwood! We used the @Anatolia Classic Collection in the colors Calacatta and Pulpis Mocha in a 12x12 size. It was one of my favorite design decisions in this space and adds so much character.

Why did you choose unlacquered brass?
I chose unlacquered brass because I love that it naturally ages over time. Instead of staying the exact same forever, it develops character and warmth with use, giving the space a lived in, timeless feel. It’s one of those finishes that just gets more beautiful as the years go by, and I knew it was something I’d love long term.

Where is the toilet?
The toilet is tucked away on the right side after you walk past the tub. I really wanted it to be out of sight so it isn’t the first thing you see when you walk into the bathroom. It helps the space feel a little more like a spa.

Where do you store everything?
We have a storage closet that’s still very builder grade with the original wire shelving, but it’s definitely on my DIY list! I’d love to replace the wire shelves with custom built-ins to make the space much more functional. We also have two small shower niches. One is visible for our everyday products, and the other is hidden, which is where we keep all of the extra bottles and clutter out of sight. I wanted everything to have a place without the bathroom feeling cluttered.

Is the glass hard to keep clean?
Honestly, it’s been pretty easy to maintain. I just use a spray glass cleaner and wipe it down regularly. Our previous primary bathroom had a glass shower too, so I’m used to it. Water spots will happen, but as long as you stay on top of cleaning it, they don’t really build up or become an issue.

Partnering with @Quince for a bedding refresh this summer season! I love a good quality, neutral bed that I can easily cozy up in and add textured layers throughout each season.
