I painted my dark, speckled granite countertops to look like faux marble. Sixteen months ago. Since then, I’ve heard: – It will chip – It will stain – It won’t last I addressed those in the video, but let’s talk about a few more: “It won’t feel like marble.” It’s still stone underneath, so it’s cool to the touch and the epoxy topcoat gives it a smooth finish. “You ruined perfectly good granite.” Living with something I hated while saving to replace it would have felt like the real waste. I chose to repurpose instead of rip out. “Has it yellowed?” Mine hasn’t, including the section above the dishwasher. I can’t speak for every kit, but 16 months in, no yellowing here.
